Can we talk about how much of a technical masterpiece the podracing scene is? Not only does it masterfully show how good Anakin's skills as a pilot are as well as his reflexes are but also its a technical miracle, if you go behind the scenes you'll see how amazing of a combination of practical effects, sound design, visual effects, framing, etc, you can't just credit one person for it, it is to this day, the most ambitious scene is star wars. Also Qui-Gon is the most underrated star wars character along with Dooku and that's a hill I'm willing to die on.

I love their interactions even more now Hey, Obi-Wan would not set him on fire. He’d let him get set on fire and not put him out. “Is this a Lucas thing or am I just dumb?!” Could it maybe be both? Jar Jar deserves recognition! I love that gungan too! Of course he’s dead, he got cut in half. That can be survived as easily as getting burned alive or being blown up. Aw, no Bonnie lines.

The sad truth is that the hardcore Star Wars fans (the real assholes are the ones that use the term “true fans”), who are really just old farts like me who grew up with the “Original Trilogy”; most of us seem to be under the assumption that most people hate the Prequels (or the Sequel Trilogy for that matter). When really, there are at least three whole generations of Star Wars fans that did not grow up with the Originals nor hold them up as these untarnished gems. Just look how some of us talk about the special editions which really didn’t change the movies at all. Now Attack of the Clones is my least favorite of all the SW films (including the Clone Wars Movie) but Revenge of the Sith was my favorite for 9 years!

Maybe it's because I liked Jar Jar as a kid, and because I didn't have the nostalgia of the OT stuff, but Jar Jar was always hilarious to me. And frankly, the funnier moments he was always in made the darker stuff hit harder. I do get that people have problems with him possibly being a racist stereotype (which given Watto is possibly being a Jewish stereotype and racist stereotyping in media is not a good thing makes this a much more understandable criticism), there are other times when I sometimes feel like the only reason people disliked him is because they want so badly for the series to be this extremely edgy and ultra serious thing all the time, even though the Star Wars Franchise has always had it's share of silly and bizarre things throughout the franchise.

The more I see Anakin being adorable and cute the more mad and heartbroken I get when I realize that he’ll turn into a monster in a matter of two movies. All this could’ve been avoided if there was at least one Jedi who would come to give emotional support to this child. Just give the child a goddamn hug!! Anyway, I’m surprised to see that you actually liked this movie considering it’s...reputation among Star Wars fans. Then again, most (but not all of them) are just whiny people. The fans despise Jar Jar despite how he is actually alright as a Star Wars character and they almost always share their praises for Darth Maul, Ashoka, and Kylo “ready to see him burn in hell” Ren despite how they are overrated, overused, or in the case of the last one, way too over praised. I’m not even going to explore how the fans are also those kinds of people who would only like something just for being “edgy” and “dark” despite how it’s actually crap in terms of story and characters.
