The Phantom movie was release on the 7th of June 1996, an Australian-American superhero film directed by Simon Wincer, staring Billy Zane as The Phantom, a seemingly immortal crime fighter in his battle against all forms of evil. The movie also stars Treat Williams, Kristy Swanson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, James Remar and Patrick McGoohan. The film’s screenplay by Jeffrey Boam is loosely inspired by three Phantom stories, “The Singh Brotherhood”, “The Sky Band” and “The Belt”, with added supernatural elements and several new characters.

This is an excellent "documentary" regarding the making of the 1996 Phantom movie which to this day is one of the best "superhero" movies about one of the first and one of the best "superhero's" of them all! The Phantom.

I read the novels by Lee Falk as a kid & was quite excited when the movie came out. I remember it didn’t get good reviews & that puzzled me as I enjoyed it very much (similar to the situation w/John Carter of Mars). I’ve just ordered the dvd of this movie & will come back & watch the “making of” after I’ve watched it. 😊

In our childhood we were mad about phantom comic witch comes monthly.secondly 3 photo comic serial was published in news paper.i hv seen phantom movie 1996 in theater. overall i was fan of this comic.

This was an episode of HBO First Look. I remember watching it several times wanting so bad to see this in theaters but I was 12 or 13 when this came out & never asked to go see it & had to wait for it to come out on VHS. But I love this movie. Very underrated. Thank you for sharing this

Why didn't they put this on the DVDs the extra featurette the movie was good slightly miscast but .. A good movie. even a special edition DVD Blu-ray would have been wise this is an excellent behind the scenes documentary... I didn't know Billy Zane worked so hard to create the look and the stamina of this comic book..

My favorite pulp hero which means he isn't a superhero plus he was created 3 years (1935) before Superman (1938). There were other pulp heroes made intro movies in the 1990s such as The Shadow, The Rocketeer, & Zorro.

I love the Phantom, and Billy Zane is great as the Phantom and he has worked hard to uphold the character he is playing and has become one of my favorite actors. Whenever I can, I go and watch this film many times, it has become one of my favorites and to think many others never cared about it. It by far very underrated. I see for what it really is…a very good movie. The scenes, story, action sequences and the adventures itself, appeal more to me than what I have seen lately in some of today’s film world….they lack the substance that makes a movie outstanding….plus too much CGI andAI intelligence if you ask me, NOT enough imagination to actually create a movie with those from the classic movies, and limited resources. I used to have many comics of the Phantom and he is still one of my favorite heroes, along side with the Lone Ranger and Tonto, including Wonder Woman.
