Hey mate, wanna make a video about how western nations (like Denmark, the USA, UK, ect) demonizes their pasts, to make it seem like pure evil ruled them, until our benevolent liberal heroes came, and put us on the right track? I'm sure you have some very interesting views on this subject, and feel strongly about it. Plus you're one of the very rare people that are brave enough to challenge the current political fever dream (it's not even the fun kind), and you have an audience, making you able to reach more people. Anyway, keep up the good work : )

I am from Ireland. In July of this year, the small rural town near where I live was covered with gay pride and transgender flags. Some were even still up well into August. Immigration has been ramped up to the point where there are non-Irish people pretty much everywhere now, even outside of large towns and cities. Of course, they don't bother to assimilate. Russia, for all its issues, is enviable in regard to it's active resistance to this poison being inflicted upon the west.

The only Western expert who got anything correct is Scott Ritter that’s because he’s one of the few who didn’t come up through the Russian studies Intel program that is essentially six years of concerted hate Russia indoctrination, but he’s also lived among them, so he actually bothered to understand their point of view and lives. Do you want to go through the typical state or military Intel apparatus if you start saying nice things about the Russians you’re not gonna make it very far because nobody wants to read that shit they want to read the evil Russians are doing this therefore justify 3 billion more dollars for our organization or we need this weapon contract to happen or will be behind the evil barbarian Russians, or the Russians are evil, which is why we must expand our operations into this country to stop them. And only people who say enough of the right things for long enough to the correct people in charge to run the anti-Russian narrative and conduct the anti-Russian program are also going to be the only one to get put on television and get published as research fellows, in order to set the narrative. We have a whole heat, Russia industry that also applies basically to anyone else that isn’t subservient to Washington wishes. For example, Iran. What real threat does Iran posed to the US it’s in the middle of the biggest continent in the world with a massive ocean on each side and our friends on both flanks. How is it going to get here and hurt us? It’s not a nice regime. It’s not an affective regime but their actual ability to hurt America and kill Americans is minimal.. and yet we had this fixation, like they have the greatest deadliest threat in the world to us. That’s pretty similar to the Russians there’s Japan and Korea on one side and then Europe on the other side +2 oceans. None of these supposed anti-American threat countries actually have the power to say Washington vision force that makes it inland into the US and starts killing everyone. They can grab in Chicago or forcefully yanks away New England from US control.. The foreign-policy package we’ve been sold and the things we are told that it necessitates are absolutely insane.

The problem with rapid mass migration isn't one of genetics or skin color. It's the fact that the influx occurs much faster than the process of assimilation, leading to cultural dilution rather than enrichment. Even worse is the fact that assimilation is now considered "-ist" or "-phobic" by the elites. Ethnocentrism isn't the solution. The solution is to control immigration and encourage assimilation.

Very concise and succinct. Job well done Pax. China is still a major factor as well. China has also successfully integrated aspects of modernity while maintaining some of its more conservative values. While Russia has to deal with its communist past because of the break-up of the Soviet Union, China has succeeded in smoothly transforming communism into something that is closer to third positionism, establishing a line of continuity - something that is of high importance when it comes to a nation's identity and stability. If China remained communist among Mao-ist lines or had been successfully subjugated by the American Empire as many American strategist thought it would post Soviet collapse when the Americans transplanted their entire consumer-production industry there, Russia would not be able to exist in the form that it is today. The main fault of liberals is that they think that liberal democracy is the end of history and something everybody ultimately wants. Afghanistan thus far has been the most humiliating example of why that isn't the case.

Thank you for including Ireland in this video, Ireland has been suffering extensively over the years due to the ideas pushed with the current system, there is no cap on migration (and no discussion is allowed about it) and in turn its driving up housing costs and supply can't keep up with demand, wages are stagnating, welfare and benefits are the primary attractor for non-Europeans or opportunistic Eastern Europeans, our culture is being eroded by a bastardised Anglophilic self destructive culture, we're being taught to demonise our own history (they can't use us like how they blame America for slavery and genocide so they have to make stuff up with strange amounts of sudden funding) and while hate speech laws don't exist (as of the time of this comment) they are due to arrive this year in January supposedly because people are questioning why hundreds of young non-Irish men are being bussed into their declining towns and housed in five star hotels/recently converted properties, just look at East Wall and Carrick-on-Shannon for example. A sad case of circumstances that doesn't get talked about easily or a lot and sadder that most folk don't seem to care.

I think he should've included Mexico and Chile too, were having the same issues already at this side of the pond and there's also hate speech laws underway. Just look at Tapachula, Coatzacoalcos, Ixtepec or Cárdenas in Mexico's case (narcos aren't our only problem anymore thanks to López and his malinchist clique), or Iquique and Antofagasta in Chile's case. Also, Mexico is likely to be ruled by a Jew (from morena aka modena aka Andrés López's clique) next year, if her clique manages to buy enough votes, bc nobody likes her

It really is a total betrayal of the Irish people, just as for the people of basically every other western country. Even Poland, which isn't western, has a lot of that crap trying to destroy it, though they're not doing as badly as most of us. The beautiful thing is that this common threat is creating a form of unity between those who see what is happening. I am Swedish, with a great deal of Scottish ancestry, and to be honest, I'm not sure how Ireland feels about the Scots, but that seems like small fish now. Whatever differences we have, we can put aside and focus on the horde.

Immigration does not have to be destructive. However, progressive made it destructive. We have uncontrolled immigration. When people complain, they say racism. Then they tell the immigrants they are marginalized, so both sides are upset. When both race starts to fight, then they blame every single police for racism. They then defund the police, and crime goes up. Homeless are our of control. They blame capitalism for crime rates. It just snowballs from there. They add in the trans and drag queen for kids. Now the children are sexualized. When parents complain, they say the parents are harming the trans community. Now both sides are upset. The next generation of children are sexualized at an early age in school. Depression in children are increasing. Kids are morally bankrupted to the point they shoot each other. They become the new leaders in 20 years. This liberal ideology progressively destroys society and brings chaos. In particular, what they are doing to the children with hormone, trans and drag queen is wicked. You never damage the innocent children.

While his criticism of the west may be quite accurate, it is important to keep in mind that both sides are capable of bending the truth to suit their own interests. With this in mind I think it is pretty obvious that Putin is a villainous figure. Putin's speeches are simply an attempt to appeal to the disenfranchised right wing within western countries, to drive division within those countries and let him run amok - like he tried to in Ukraine. This works especially well on young Americans, who find it easier to view international conflict as a strict right-versus-left affair rather that struggles between states by simple virtue of competing interests. Anyone who knows of Russia from more than their smartphone screen can see that his words ring a bit hollow.

That may very well be true, but there is no question that Russia represents a threat to Western countries, and that this balance of power is better than having a single hegemon in power. US dominance has not been a good thing to the world, and whether Russia really stands behind the values it proports to stand, is in a geopolitical sense less important. Ultimately whether true or hypocritical, Russia has become a symbol of other virtues and values than those held in the West. That's why many in the West especially among the right support Russia. Symbolism is an important aspect to any debate or conflict.

As a Russian, I can say that Putin is a jerk who cares about Russian diasporas abroad more than about the Russians who actually live in Russia. Our country is, no doubt, rich in natural resources and historically has been a "raw material appendage" for the developed countries. In early 2000s, he ruled our country out of misery of the 90s, while oil prices were rising, but he never actually fought corruption. While his friends among public servants and business elites were and still are earning a lot, investing their fortunes in property (for their relatives and friends) and offshore companies to conceal this information, in other towns and villages (not in Russian most populated ones), many people struggle to survive, because they earn too little in the time of constantly rising inflation, live in buildings, which are in critical conditions, live in overpolluted towns (due to the production of raw materials), also lack public health insurance, pedestrian-friendly streets and safe environment. Mayors, officials in city administrations, many businessmen don't care about the quality of life in those cities. Some changes happen in the run-up to another visit by Mr President because, in case you didn't know, he doesn't have access to the Internet and fully relies on his advisers, and also in order to raise their approval ratings (not before the people, cause we don't celebrate free and fair elections, but before the senior officials). We have always been told that Russia just suffers budget deficit and cannot afford extra spendings on urban development, resettlement of people in safer houses, etc., and many people were used to that. But since Feb 24th, it has turned out the Russian authorities have enough money to spend it on a brutal, dense and, primarily, meaningless warfare. Our billions-sized taxes are spent on mass destruction of ukranian towns and murder of innocent people who are our neighbours (Also many Russians derive from Ukrainian towns and vice versa), many young Russian men were killed in action because one freak in Kremlin thinks that if the USA violates the International Right and doesn't follow that stupid gentlemen's agreement between M. Gorbachev and G. Bush regarding reunification of Germany, then it leaves no other choice but to violate the International Right ourselves. That's just like violence for the sake of violence in the world which is already full of violence. And, please, don't blame Russian people for the lack of action. Firstly, there's high polarization among Russians and maybe a half or more of our population really endorse Putin, many people can't imagine Russia without our President (Just remember Libya which became a state of complete chaos after the Gadaffi's death, maybe Russia is still solid thanks to Putin's charisma and reputation). Secondly, when Russians rally there's often strong Law Enforcement's reaction and protesters are disarmed and lack the leader. There is actually no certain opposition leader and a candidate for the President's office. Thirdly, there's a saying that "Russia's only allies are the Army and Naval fleet only". It was often used by Russia's tsar Alexander III in other context of rising European powers and the absence of reliable alliences and honesty in the late 19th Century, but, in my current context (I used it to show off), it means that Russia's Armed Forces and Police personnel are enormous and are also loyal to the incumbent regime. The whole nation must stand against it united so that the Army and the Police switch sides. It's hard to imagine a sort of the Arab Spring, but in Russia, now due to the uncertainty and the diverse and weak opposition. His freaking decision-making is about to sink the ship called the "Russian Federation". In Russia, many people are either doomed to a lifelong misery, or will be soon drafted to the battlefield for the Army needs. It took more than 200 days to seize Bakhmut, while Russia plans to occupy at least the whole territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Considering this information, we can calculate how long the Russia's campaign will last, if we don't suffer a defeat. What is more important is that all those taken lives and spent taxes could have been invested in better living standarts, better conditions for entrepreneurs, industry, anything else except for the war. By the way, did you know that Putin's so beloved China, our major partner, hardly had been a friendly state. The Sino-USSR relations were strong for a little after the Mao's victory in the Civil War, but because of China's ambitions and Khruchev's defamation of Stalin in the 50s we became rivals and that rivarly first led to a border conflict of 1969, then led to the closer partnership between China and the USA and was ended when M. Gorbachev made a few geopolitical concessions to China (move troops away from the border, Afghanistan and recognize all three Chinas as one united). So if Putin believes that Russia will be better being a China's "raw material appendage", then he is severely wrong. The author of the video is right about Putin's beliefs and his anxieties, but this whole philosophy is such a bullshit. He is a freak who's too old to govern. Although he makes decisions, all his views are based on his former life as a counter-revolutionaire and his advisers' advice. He is a puppet in the hands of obscure people in office. Surely, the United States-led world order is far from great, with it values being propagated aggressively. In the end, the USA made major errors, lost a lot in its campaigns, leaving chaos behind. That serves as a harsh lesson for its future policymakers and electorate. Besides, with the rise of China and the US debt crisis, the USA is losing its momentum in its unipolar world order. The knowledge of the US unsuccessful campaigns in the Middle East could have also served as a lesson for Putin, but he doesn't seem to learn by somebody else's mistakes. Instead, we also must cover in blood some of the pages of our history.

His reasons for launching this latest atrocity had nothing to do with dismantling the powers that be in the west, it was purely for the glory of Russia and bolstering his legacy. He is a clever politician and as such can tailor his reasoning to fit the conflict, but ultimately it's just the same as when he invaded the conservative, Christian nation of Georgia in 2008. Until recently his power in Russia was unquestionable and he had every ability to deny the corrupting influence of western culture in his country, without having to launch this horrific war. Instead, he has created an environment of political instability in his own country, and pushed his neighbours further into the western sphere by acting like a bloodthirsty pirate.

Some counterpoints: "The West conspired to destroy the Russian economy in the 1990s" --> Because the late Soviet economy was so distorted, it probably looked far more impressive on paper than it was in reality. My father visited in 1993, less than two years after the final collapse, and basically described the country as a dump. He and his tourist group frequently encountered places which had no plumbing whatsoever and people just defecated out in the open. To stress how backward this was, Americans in the freaking 1800s had outhouses but much of early '90s Russia apparently did not. It could be argued that, rather than obliterating the Russian economy, transitioning it to a market pricing-based system allowed for a more accurate measuring of the economy's true state, combined with unprecedented ease of access by Westerners to 1990s Russia to observe how the country was actually faring (whereas the U.S.S.R. was largely a hermit kingdom except to other communist states). Of course, there was also some real decline because "shock therapy" was inevitably going to be painful. Poorly managed shock therapy, in contrast to the successful approach of post-communist counterexamples like Poland and the Baltic States, was especially painful as it risked the old party bosses of the Soviet Union buying up the economy and becoming the new corporate bosses. Despite the common refrain that Yeltsin was in bed with the West, he ultimately had the power to do what he willed and it was ultimately his responsibility to do what he thought was best for Russia. To lay his own failure to properly oversee the inevitable reforms at the feet of Washington or Brussels is a case of mental gymnastics if I've ever seen one. "Putin saved Russia's economy from the brink" --> By the eve of the 1998 financial crisis Russia looked like it was finally starting to recover. This crisis set them back some more, yes, and the ensuing recovery more or less overlapped with Putin's rise. But the historical record doesn't support to the idea that recovery would've been impossible without Putin saving the country by rolling back capitalism or democracy, since signs of recovery had already been observed before he took office. Additionally Putin's first term was marked by liberal economic policies for the most part, so it's hard to ascribe said recovery to his regime eschewing the Western approach. And in the long run, Putin failed to build Russia up. The years 2000-2008 were great. But the annexation of Crimea, a decision made by Putin, marked an end to further Russian economic growth. Any initial recovery that Putin's tenure yielded for Russia, however significant at the time, must be weighed in light of the fact that he has been in charge for over two decades, and most of those years didn't see life get noticeably better for the average Russian. "This is devil's advocate from Putin's personal perspective"---> "He's the head of Russia's executive branch. It's his obligation to be well-versed in facts and to be reasonably informed about the truth of these matters. If he can't manage that, then he should step down. "Putin tried to protect Russia from Western aggression like in Libya."-->Libya didn't have nukes. Russia has thousands of them. The motherland was at no serious risk of foreign attack at the start of 2022 and that wouldn't have changed in the foreseeable future. But even assuming some hypothetical future threat did exist, the burden was on Putin to prove that killing Ukrainians had a meaningful inverse correlation to said threat. And to date, he has done no such thing. All he's offered is half-baked excuses and fanciful accusations. "Ukraine was justified because of Libya"--->NATO's bombing of Libya (done to enforce a UN no-fly zone mandate during a civil war) killed probably no more than 400 civilians, none of whom were deliberately killed, whereas the Bucha Massacre alone might've topped that and the civilians of Bucha were purposefully targeted for the slaughter. The two are like apples and oranges. "And Iraq"--->I don't have time to go over this in detail, but Iraq was under UN-imposed blockade, and ruled by a genocidal dictator, up until the moment that the US invasion resolved the situation. There was an initial period of chaos when the government fell, during which Iraqi civilians killed each other, and after this you had a long insurgency where Iraqis once more killed each other. This doesn't exactly paint a picture of one-sided American aggression. "Afghanistan"--->What internationally recognized government did the US topple in Afghanistan? How many countries recognized the Taliban besides maybe Pakistan? "The rules based order is a farce"--->Russia had no right to say this so long as they still found it worth participating in. They were a member of the World Trade Organization, the World Health Organization, INTERPOL, and the UN. They were integrated into the SWIFT banking network, they imported goods from and exported goods to countries all over the world, received IMF loans and Western technology transfers, etc. They wanted to enjoy modern comforts and modern security from violence, and in fact they did enjoy these benefits. It's more appropriate to say that Putin saw one rule he didn't like: the rule that outlawed wars of unprovoked aggression. "The West imposes atheism, the LGBTQ lifestyle, abortion, and unchecked mass immigration"--->None of which has anything to do with why Putin invaded Ukraine. "Russia is a bulwark against these bad values"--->Except it isn't. Russia has one of the world's highest abortion rates, Russian citizens who don't believe in God are dime a dozen, and the country receives huge numbers of Central Asian migrants. "Eastern Christianity never lost control of society like Catholicism/Protestantism in the West."--->Not even close. In the first place, the Catholic Church had a very long tradition of being independent from secular authorities, while about half of Protestantism's development happened in the United States, where churches have always enjoyed constitutional protections from federal meddling. Meanwhile Eastern Orthodoxy, influenced by the Byzantine and Tsarist models, traditionally played "handmaiden to the state". It was always the subordinate partner in that relationship. The state had its own selfish agenda, often a bloodthirsty sociopathic one, and the church was forced to collaborate with said regimes and sully itself in corruption. It's a testament to the spiritual weakness of the Orthodox model that the communists faced so little resistance wiping out the churches of Eastern Europe.
@peytonl2976
@peytonl2976 6 ай бұрын
Spiritual weakness he says, after convenient straw-man arguments trying to encapsulate over two thousand years of history. If you wish to go down this road of critiquing the Orthodox world, you must be open to the warranted criticisms of where the christianity of the west has ended up. Not entirely sure where you are, but if protestant: lol, lmao. If Catholic: which one? Eastern Catholic? Observant of vatican II Catholic? Refusal of Vatican II Catholic? “EO never lost control of society…” EO absolutely has a deep influence in the countries that still cling to orthodoxy, there is no refuting this. While absolutely there is an open door to critiquing how well or bad this influence has performed, it still cannot be denied that it exists and isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

@@gamervibes6454 What do you mean by Nazis? In Russia the word 'Nazi' means someone who is strongly opposed to Russia and/or Russian people like that Ukrainian group Azov Battalion. Currently in the West, 'Nazi' tends to be anyone remotely right wing. From what I know, the only reason Russia is multiracial is not from mass immigration like in the West, but due to historical conflicts and Russian Imperial expansion in the past. I think Putin would prefer a more conservative West as he knows leftism is dangerous and does not want it to spread to Russia.

I would not fault anyone for wanting to surpress media from the aggressor in a war of aggression. It will inevitably contain propaganda (as will the other side of course), and if it is allowed to have effect on those who lack reasonable moral values, it can lessen support for the victims of the war, resulting in less aid. While valuable in understanding Russia's action, no clarification of the Russian perspective can justify killing thousands of innocents, or make it morally acceptable.

Right. What about every other city? What about the bombs developed specifically to burn the civilian housing in the city? Not the railways. Not the factories. The houses. Don't be such a sucker. The allied bombing of German and Japanese cities was unprecedented. Never seen before or since. It was wrong. The bombing was unnecessary. Germany was already collapsing. The non stop day and night raids were fucked. And it was the allies who began it all. Germany only targeted military installations on England's coastline, and when it invaded France, took great care to protect historical landmarks and civilian populations. Mind you, it was France and England who declared war on Germany. Germany and France after war broke out surprisingly didn't begin bombing each other along their border. It was the English who began their terror bombing. Churchill ordered the deliberate destruction of civilian areas. It went on for weeks, Germany asked England and the world to stop the targeting of their cities, as this was evil. The bombings only increased. And England decides to start bombing at night so Germany couldn't defend itself. And finally, Hitler gave the order to return the favor, the battle of Britain ensued. This was England's "greatest hour", fighting a small fraction of the wehrmacht, receiving a small taste of the terror they inflicted on German people. And why? For Poland. If they cared about Poland why did thet not care that the ussr invaded Poland? They allied with ussr and told them they can keep polish gains after the war. Hmmmm... Ussr invades Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Japan, demands large swaths of land from Romania under threat of invasion, stains speeches state he wants the war in the west to go on for a while to weaken Germany, then the ussr will all out invade and spread communism and nobody can stop them. All this, nobody cares. But Germany fights with Poland and the world is plunged into war.

As a Russian myself, I have to disagree with your analysis. You see, you (and many other right wingers) from Europe and european-like countries still try to assess Russian politics in terms of actual competition of political and social ideas which is present at your home, but not here, in Russia. The truth is, modern Russia is a very big and resource-rich Latin America-like "banana dictatorship" - and I say that as a conservative and nationalist. The government isn't held together by certain ideals and beliefs, but rather by goal of retaining power of and enriching a certain social group - that is, a late soviet bureaucracy and their descendants. As such, Putin and his confidants just use whatever slogans they feel suit them better at the exact moment to further these ultimate goals. Moreover, right-wing Russian nationalists and conservatives now in fact become the most vocal opposition group to the current government. Though unsanctioned political activity still largely remains within bounds of online groups, intellectual clubs and local movements and parties, in the wake of recent failures in Ukraine right-wing slogans and critiques began to gain popularity among the general public. What are the exact problems of Putin's regime from a Russian right-wing view, you may ask? First of all, the national policy. It is genuinely horrible and in many aspects is identical to the western situation. For the love of Jesus Christ, don't ever try to seriously convince any Russian conservative that Russian rightism is "multicultural". It is really not, the existence of multiple national republics with actual Russian majorities in most of them, where Russian kids are forced to study effectively dead languages with no practical use and local nationalists have the chance to push their fantasies about native Wakandas ruined by "tsarist colonialism", has long been a source of dissatisfaction for many. Moreover, the intense migration of Muslims from Caucasus and Central Asia is greeted by hostility even from the general public, as those folks are no different from negroes and arabs in, for example, Germany in their behaviour. But at least they are pretty cheap to employ, which allows state and state-affiliated companies to storage more money into their pockets. Then, we have the war in Ukraine, which is constant source of butthurt for patriotic Russians for several month already. We still even don't know what we are fighting - the government switches from one topic to another, while the right pushes hard for realization of tsarist concept of the "triune Russian folk", the notion that Belarusians and Little Russians (Ukrainians) are just are a Russian subethnos, like Bavarians are of Germans. The event at the frontlines also spark much concern, as we effectively stopped advancing and retreated several times, Bakhmut being the only victory in recent half a year. For now, I would better stop, as this is already a long post, though there are many topics to talk about: relation between the right and the government, policy on occupied territories, assessment of history and more. Hope that helps any westerner to change the perspective, ready to answer any questions in replies.

I like you Pax, but this video was pure copium. First of all, you said that we should judge a man by his words and actions. So what do we get? A war criminal, that: -invaded a free, Independent country that has done nothing wrong to Russia, expect maybe, like, defending its own interest and fighting against russian imperialism? Saying that "oh, NATO was expanding its influence and endangered Russia" is like saying "yea, I have beaten a guy, because he looked at me angrily; he could have been a attack me first" - Lied an exceptional amount of times about West, NATO, Ukraine's allies, so i don't know if we can trust such a man and understand him basing on that Also you have said that his faith looks genuine. I have to ask you: Do you really think that a god-fearing man with genuine faith can bomb schools, orphanages, civilian shelters and critical infrastructure, don't punish his own men for comitting atrocities and use ordinary propaganda to achieve his goals? Also "genuine faith" is not something that you would expect from a former KGB agent. Also i would like to remind or make people know that orthodox church in Russia is a puppet of the state and is ready to support the government in anything they do. They have not condemned the unjust war that is taking place, usage of mercenaries, criminals and other scum, employing unhumanitarian tactics , etc. by the Russians while fighting the "rotten West" Also I've got the feeling that you are praising Russia as a great country, which it is not. Corruption is running rampant everywhere - from the highest to the lovest levels of the institutions. Russia has the greatest number of abortions in Europe, if not in entire world! They (Russians) literally have a culture of lying called "vranyo", which is deeply settled into their society, you can read on that if you want. And, in the end, believe me that Russia doesn't have this problems problems since our times, not even since the communist times - all of it is just a part of their culture. Ask somebody from central or baltic Europe - Poles, Lithuanians, Estonians, Latvians, Ukrainians, etc. how fun it was to be under russian rule. Ask them how much culture Russians brought instead of destroying it, how the people of this countries were entirely free and totally not opressed. Ask them - their answers might shed a new light on how Russia "preserves values" and other crap. I don't want to offend you in any way, because yes, the West has many flaws and its own crazyness, but believe me - you would rather live in American woke madness than in authoritharian tyranny of lies which Russia provides.

The issue I see here is that everyone is blaming "liberalism" when looking at the social degeneracy of the West. To me, that doesn't make much sense. When we talk of "liberalism," I assume we're talking of the old meaning of the word: democratic governments that operate through rights and liberty. Classical Liberalism is essentially Libertarianism, the idea that the state should be be limited in its power and only have the authority to do what is absolutely necessary. The U.S. has followed this "liberal" form of government for centuries, yet this social degeneracy only emerged within the last decade or so, or became mainstream at least. Interestingly, this degeneracy may be the fault of Russia itself. A KGB agent named Yuri Bezmenov defected to the West in the 1970s and revealed a long-term Communist plan to ideologically subvert the West into degeneracy. This strategy was known as "Active Measures" and here is an uncanny interview and lecture Bezmenov did in the 1980s where he accurately predicts many things: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4iqnXiffbF7f80 Putin is a former KGB man himself. I dont think your seeing the bigger picture and are only picking that wich benefits the message *you* are trying to convey. I gotta make this correction on Dresden... Compare it to the bombings of most of the major cities in West Germany, the bombings of Warsaw, the bombings in Spain and especially the bombings in Japan; the bombing of Dresden was very light. The reason why it is remembered in such infamy was due to the fact that the Soviet Union capitalized on it and in order to unite the East Germans to themselves against the West; Delta mythos around it, as an exaggerated, strategically pointless, military attack on the good communist people of Dresden by the west. They also leave out the fact (and I believe Putin left out as well) that it was the Soviets who begs the Allies to bomb Dresden, in preparation for a Soviet land invasion.

Ah, good to see history is not forgotten. Yes, Stalin begged for the Allies to do something about Dresden, the Nazi propagandists weaved a sob story about hundreds of thousands of dead civilians, and the Soviet Union ran with it after WWII because 99% to 100% of USSR's ideological debate was built around whataboutisms.

I do agree that Putin opposes the decadence of the West. However, I disagree when you say that Putin does not love Communism itself but more that he likes the economic and military power that the Soviet Union had. He does very much adhere to the ideas of Communism and socialism. Like all the lefties that you will see on a modern campus in the US, Putin believes that the views of Communism were not implemented properly. In 2016 Putin said that he kept his communist party membership card. "I didn't throw out my party card; I didn't burn it. My card is still lying around somewhere. I wasn't a party member through necessity. I can't say I was an ideological communist, but I did treasure it. I still like the Communist and Socialist ideals, much like the Bible." Putin did criticize Lenin, but his criticism of Lenin was that Lenin did make it possible for some Soviet Satellites to leave the Soviet Union. So Putin's criticism of Lenin was that he was not dictatorial enough. Now, is Putin as authoritarian as Lenin? No. But that is his criticism of Lenin. His complaint is that Lenin handled Communism poorly, not that Communism is evil. Putin is correctly calling out the decadence of the West. That is true. But it is because he knows demographics. Under Putin, Russia is still the world's leader in abortion and unlike what many have come to believe, LGBTQ night clubs are common in Russia. The only thing that is illegal when it comes to homosexuality is advertising to minors. So you can not erect a billboard advertising a homosexual night club, but you can hand out cards and pamphlets to adults inviting them to the clubs. And one thing that Western liberals do not understand is that the Russians have always put the highest value on strength and power. For example, when we in the West hear of a church in Saint Petersburg called the Church on the Savior of the Spilled Blood, then we would think that has to do with the blood shed by Jesus on the cross. That is not the case of that Church. That name comes from the blood spilled by Alexander II when he was assassinated. Russians have always placed the utmost importance on rank and power. That is why it is dumb for liberals to criticize Putin as a dictator. That does not mean anything to Russians. It also is an ineffective accusation against Stalin as well. In the Russian mindset, the power practiced is good no matter how it is practiced. The genocide of millions of Russians in the gulags does not matter to Russians because it was evidence of the power of Stalin and, therefore the influence of Russia on the world stage. So Putin attacks the West as being pro-LGBTQ and he is right, and his criticisms are correct. But it is for a practical purpose, not a moral one. Russians do not have a sense of orthodoxy as Westerners do. The idea of the truth in Russia is very different from what it is here. Whether something in and of itself is inherently immoral or not is not the question. Whether it fulfills an agenda or not determines morality and truth in the Russian mindset. So Putin criticizes the West as being decedent and that is true. But Russia does not have the idea of truth as we do. To them, truth is whatever helps them fulfill an agenda. If you must lie to get your way, then that is ok. If you must genocide millions of your own people to be more powerful, that is ok. That is why you can find many icons of Stalin all over Russia and Russians praying to him despite his mass genocide of his own people.

NATO never made a pledge to Russia not to expand eastward. The President of the USA made assurances to the leader of the Soviet Union regarding East Germany. Even if it wasn’t a gentleman’s agreement with no legal or constitutional obligation, it was also made to a country that no longer exists. If the independent Eastern European countries wish to join a military alliance to defend themselves against the remnants of the brutal empire that wrongly invaded them and subjugated them, then that is their business, not Russia’s.
@hairharbor5080
@hairharbor5080 6 ай бұрын
You're right in so far as the initial pledge regarding East Germany doesn't carry much weight. Even Putin early on in his presidency was reluctantly ok with NATO expansion in 2004. The big change came in 2007 when Putin explicitly said any further NATO expansion would be seen as overtly hostile. That the US laughed this off and continued to actively meddle in the affairs of Ukraine especially was the real red line. The 2014 Maidan revolution immediately put at risk Russia's primary Naval base. That alone justifies Russia's position regarding Crimea before even getting to the ethnic claims.

@@hairharbor5080 No it doesn't. Russia signed an agreement with Ukraine promising security guarantees in exchange for the Nukes in Ukraine. @@levongevorgyan6789 Russia signed an agreement in 1994 for the return of its own nukes that Ukraine didn't have the codes for (or the means to maintain) with the support of the US btw. And this agreement was with the Ukrainian government that existed prior to the unconstitutional overthrow in 2014 which invalidated prior agreements. Also the genocide claim is BS. The Holomodor affected millions in Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan, and was the result of idiotic Soviet collectivization policies.Millions of ethnic Russians died including many Russians in Ukraine as a result of it. Fact is Ukraine held a great amount of sway within the Soviet Union and the vast majority were in favor of Soviet rule over Nazi Germany. Pretending Ukrainians on the whole were oppressed by Russians is a recent invention since Kiev came under Nationalist influence after 2014. I strongly dislike the Soviet Union and what it stood for the but the BS revision of history coming out of Ukraine these days is ridiculous.
