Yeah, Shawn reviewed another plastic trap awhile back and the rat chewed an escape hole in that one too. I think plastic kill traps might work but for live traps you need something more durable than plastic

Only major problem I see is that if you can trigger it from the outside so could the mice, the doors are also a little slow to fall though.

Considering how totally they ignore dead mice, the ability to learn from their peers seems to be completely absent in mice.

All jokes aside, mice are nowhere near as smart as rats. Rats are intelligent and very cautious. Mice are simple and curious. You can catch mice all day right next to each other. Rats; however, have the ability to learn from experience and even from each other. If a rat sees another rat die in a trap, it will avoid those traps in the future.

Your mice are starting to get a little chubby!!! They are well loved, and it’s nice to see. 💕 I have this trap and it didn’t work well for me. The plastic is very lightweight and would be set off when walked by too closely.

Surprise no comment from Shawn about the trap not functioning correctly. it seemed by his description there was one trigger point inside that closes both doors? and yet the mouse ran through the closing door before it closed and yet the other door did not close. Not very useful if a mouse can get through the trap faster then the trap closes.
