I’m Italian, so I feel I have more to say on this. PINEAPPLE pizza is not Italian. Pizza is, but with Pineapple not. It was invented in Canada. Therefore, if you want to eat actual traditional pizza, Hawaiian is not one of them. In Italy it’s considered weird and gross; Whoever, it’s all about people. There is nothing wrong with liking pineapple pizza. But it does not belong on a pizza. Taking into account the ingredients on a pizza (ergo: the cheese, garlic, oils) it does not mesh and even by professional chefs’ standards it is not something that palatably combines. Tomato is a fruit, but would you put tomato in a fruit salad. Pizza is a savoury dish, and therefore does not sit well with a fruit, which tend to be sweet. Plus, mangoes: sweet tropical fruit, yet you don’t eat those on pizza.

Grill pineapple a bit, then put it on pizza. Small pieces though, don't put a large chunk in. The smokey, sweet and sour taste of pineapple will complement other ingredients which are mostly bitter or salty. It also helps make the pizza taste less greasy and much more refreshing. Problem comes from the fact that the majority of places where you can get pineapple on a pizza use canned pineapple instead of fresh pineapple the problem is the canned fruit is usually packed in something to persevere it Which makes it sweeter than the pineapple already is so it makes the pineapple too sweet to the point of being disgusting.

my local pizza hut sells pineapple on pizza and my family buys it and say its good. i cry in my inside everytime i see pineapple on the pizza.
