Pineapple Thief's been one of my top 5 fav bands for years (Since 2012 aprox. when I listened to 'Give it Back', an incredible piece of prog. rock too), and the fact Gavin is with you now guys makes it all better, cause you as a whole make an incredible, talented team, guys! I can notice how you complement to each other (e.g. drums and keyboard/synth's tempo games. this was my favorite aspect of this song) and that your DNA (your 'vibe') as a band is still recognizable. congrats and thanks for such a piece of art.

Every instruments gets to create a certain feeling and add its own flavour to the song. Became aware of PT whilst channel hopping - and I thought to myself - "wow that drumming sounds just like Gavin from Porcupine Tree" - and of course it was Gavin.... But then I heard the full album (Dissolution) and decided I needed more. I agree that Gavin first brought me to this band (as I'm a BIG Porcupine Tree fan (as well as Steve Wilson)) but having now procured all the back catalogue (with the exception of Variations on a Dream- which I can't find) I am really recognising the material from pre-Gavin era is also excellent and I'm kicking myself for not discovering them earlier. Alone at Sea / Release the Tether, Wake the Dead, What Have we Sown etc - to name but a few - these are all stunningly good and from across a very broad spectrum of albums and sounds. Some remind me of Muse, others Radiohead, others again Porcupine Tree - very dynamic and musically clever. I also think the production levels (on the CDs) is very well done and adds to the experience. I like all the albums now - can't wait for the new one to land in my post box (and I'm in Australia so as it's Covid-tastic at the moment over here I won't get to hear it until Dec 2021 probably....And I will now start trawling dime etc for live stuff from across their career - as you can never get enough once you get into good band....thanks guys - it's nice to find a band this is still current that I can really immerse myself with. I doubt you'll ever get out to Melbourne - but if you do - I'll be on the front row somewhere....

@@5ammy13 Hi Matey - I've seen all of Steven's shows in Melbourne - and recorded them - the first one (2/10/13) isn't a good recording - but the next two (Russell Street 28/10/16 and St Kilda Palais 10/11/18) are both excellent - using a Sony PCMM10B with Church Audio CA11 mikes - let me know if you want a copy.....They are up on certain torrent sites - as are my recordings of his Royal Albert Hall shows (28/29 September 2015) - I was lucky enough to be in London for both those shows - Gavin guested on the encore on the second night - I got bounced from the top tier to a private box on the first level - the recording is stellar due to the height I was above the audience and proximity to the stage.
