It’s interesting that this particular channel tries to explain the serial killer’s behavior by their childhood or other life experiences, which could play a role, but was it outside environment and random circumstances or his personality, that made him behave certain ways that also changed the circumstances around him. Her reaction was the point. If a parent shames & punishes a child for a behavior, that increases the forbidden nature of the activity. We also know she put her underwear under lock & key. Ive watched a lot of these episodes. I never paid attention to the fact that most of the people interviewed to describe the killer's depravity aren't necessarily experts in this field. Most of them are authors. Now, I'm not naive enough to think authors aren't educated enough to make appropriate comments. However, they're not experts in the field. Early childhood intervention and less severe resource distribution (incl $) would be a step in the right direction.
