Brilliant! Mine is just finishing fermentation. Wheat styles are probably my favourite so very excited for this one! Thanks for these excellent videos.

Cheers Just sipping a pint right now whilst responding to the comments. For me its hitting the right spot for a weiss beer, only tweak would have been for me to perhaps brew for an extra day, and not condition for as long (Not really requiring 10 days when the expectation is for haze)

Just going to brew the Weiss night so was pleased it came out well without having to add extra ingredients. I normally hydrate the yeast but seeing the results you had I am not going to bother. Like yourself i have ordered the space hopper so looking forward to that. Really enjoy your videos so I have subscribed to the channel and look forward to the journey ahead cheers mike

When you hydrate the yeast you would probably get a 6hr head start on brewing compared to myself. I would hydrate mine, but it has most times been the case that its just come through the post, and like an excited child I rush to brew it 😁
@CountDrunkula3 жыл бұрын
I'm a huge proponent of rehydration but with the amount of yeast they give you with the pinter it's just not necessary. Like a lot of wine kits out there they give you a massive amount of yeast for the batch size to make sure it's as bulletproof as possible. Even if you got 50% cell loss due to osmotic pressure there's still tons left. If you've ever done anything like a winebuddy wine kit they give you a yeast and nutrient pack that's maybe 15 times they typical pitch rate - but it is basically sugar based so you do need the nutrient.

Weiss nights came out utterly delicious with the 3 days conditioning. Also received space hopper today so going to get that in the co Pinter soon as. Still got uplands social and the apple cider to brew.
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
As a Weiss it probably doesn't need long conditioning. Glad it came out so good Not got my space Hopper yet. Was hoping to get it on before the weekend 😔

Happy New Year - I mentioned in one of your last video's I enjoyed the Weiss Nights which I said it masked the the Home Brew Twang! - this latest brew ''Von Tap'' which I has been fermenting for 7 days Iv'e got a final sg of 1.020 should be around 1.010 - not sure wot went wrong but does not taste bad in anyway - decided to leave it for an extra 3-5 days to ferment out !? wot do yer think - next brew will be to follow your BIAB presentation ...joe
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
Provided you havent taken too much out (less than a litre) then leaving it a few days maybe help it. If still not great after that it may be a case of bottling and giving it a few months to improve slowly

Little tip (assuming you don't do this already), wet the glass and when you pour you won't get as much of a head :)

Looks a good beer, not had anything from TGG for a while as I've been using my pinter as a keg for home brew. Be interested to see how this higher abv beer turns out, though at 7% don't think I would call it a DIPA. Hopefully see you on a live stream this weekend. Cheers 🍻
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
If you can home brew it yourself then why not. It works out cheaper and gives your more flexibility to brew what you want. I was aiming to do a home brew today but didn't get round to it, so perhaps tomorrow. Lets see if the 7% actually gets that high, and yeah DIPA would be more 8% but they wouldn't be the first to call something at a lower ABV a DIPA

Ouch, wonder why it took so long to get yours. I'm part of the monthly subscription and I think I remember them saying they fulfill those first. Are you on the sub or buying ad hoc? Space Hopper is down for 14 days brew and condition, meaning I'll probably be tasting it same time as this one next month

How long can you keep the bottled beer? Which version do you think is best?
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
Provided the bottle is sealed correctly, and kept in the right temperature/light conditions, then you can keep them for 12-18+ months.

Received my Pinter today, but the carbonation dial popped out while doing the purification steps. They were very good over the online chat and have ordered a replacement, but it still troubles me. Have either of your units given you trouble?
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
I seen others have issues with dial popping out My first Pinter (the yellow) is good, not had any issues. My second Pinter (Red) had a very stiff dial and I've been playing about with it to try and fix as don't think it's venting properly

I wasnt a fan of the Weiss to be honest. When will your DIPA be ready? Started drinking mine last night. It’s beautiful. Best one so far by a mile. I was dubious of the 7% but ended up having to go bed at 9pm last night because I was steaming 😂

That sounds like a good recommendation for the beer! Vented it today and had a sneaky taste and it was great. Shall have some tomorrow and then... Probably have to bottle rest as not sure when I would get round to drinking it all They announce their June beer Monday evening

What in your experience is the best brew? How long can you keep the bottled beer?

You said keeping it in the warm room will remove some of the carbonation. I always keep it in the fridge once tapped do you suggest brining it out and leaving g it at room temperature? You said you released the pressure 24hrs before tapping and left dial in the off position. What was the reason for venting 24hrs before? Did you mean to say leave the dial at carbonation instead of off. Sorry for the questions but I'm a complete novice and you are the only Pinter person I follow. Thanks Mark
@TravelandBrews3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, Might have said some confusing things in the video there. I do apologise. I brewed at room temp 20-22c for 5 days I then done one day as a cold crash (leaving in the brewing position with dock attached, but putting into a cold location - for me, the garage) Then I removed the dock and left it in the fridge for 10 days to condition. On day 9, i turned the valve slowly to off to release the built up pressure, then turned the valve back to carbonated after. You do this because even releasing pressure can disturb the beer and the tap pulls beer from the bottom. It means that you have 24hrs for it to re-settle after the minor disturbance, and releasing the pressure on day 10 will be easier, and not kick up as much or at all. The aim is to have a clearer beer for that final day.

50%, really? Why a PD system? This is to do with brewing a beer, surely the alternative is a grainfather or just brewing in a bucket then kegging after?
