Bruh, the AI was doing this to me. I built like the second larges navy, declared a war on Spain and Portugal (who were the culprits) because their alliance broke with the UK. Conquered most of Africa from Spain while the Austrian AI fully sieged down the two of them. Was the most satisfying war I've ever done.

I once played Ayuthaya in a MP game, which probably has the worst idea set in the game. So; I decided to do two things: 1: Make a Tradition build so I could provide my allies with God-Generals and Admirals. Don't need high army quality or good troop NI's when you're allied to other land powers and can just provide a 1-stack with a God-general; and attach them. [Sadly Tradition stacking has been nerfed] 2: Make use of the godawful Trade Range NI [At the time the Siam node wasn't split; and was a start node so Trade Range was LITERALLY A CRUEL JOKE IN AN ALREADY GARBAGE NI SET. Other highlights include Religious Unity in a region where everyone is Therevada...] and the fact I'm taking naval-based ideas to give us Admirals anyway... and Pirate. I actually managed to take some land from the Portugese in a naval war to get closer to Europe; and then started sending over ~200 Light Ships; with massive Privateering power. This was before Pirate Republics. I was taking so much money from the Portugese that they eventually decided to pay me twice what I was making, because that was FAR less than they were losing. Then I went and pirated the British instead. And if anyone attacked my Indian ally; [Usually a large Persia] I'd go and pirate and blockade them and give the spoils to the Indians. The Indians even gave me the Maldives to use as a base. And it's not like the British; Spanish or Portugese could attack me all the way in Asia; when I had god-Admirals; Naval and Maritime; and a strong Indian and Chinese ally.
