I truly believe that trash maps have ruined Wtii's perception and conditioned him to completely misinterpret cool map mechanics. The villagers being too far from the raider that captured them is the very first thing I thought (and even in chat was mentioned straight away), as that makes sense thematically, but due to a lack of a clear visual tether or similar Wtii instantly assumed jank. Cool campaign otherwise and looking forward to campaigns getting back finally.

@@igor953 It's the opposite actually, he was being too smart and approached it too logically and didn't consider the thematic aspect of "raiders dragging the villagers", which to be fair he did manage to skip the hint for on accident.

@@Lexsed Or the fact he told the villagers to go sacrifice themselves without an escort, because everyone knows if someone captures you then sends you to the ir house several blocks away. That you will totally go to their house unsupervised and do what they want while they go to the other side of the city. You totally wouldn't ever think of... going home and calling the police, or going in a different direction once their out of eyesight...

For the second level, you're overthinking it, or too used to how WC3 normally works. To me, when you get those tiny buildings, it's obvious that you should start building your base there in the middle. Then you raid the surrounding towns to get resources, while you build up your forces to attack the castle on the hill. That is the main objective. You are supposed to ignore the other mini bases around. Unless you want to wipe the map clean before finishing the main objective.

There is no harm in taking times to explore before setting up a base in the center of the map, which seems like a terrible place to build a base as it is a very open area without a gold mine. I personnaly avoid thinking of such things as "obvious" so easily especially in customs maps where oversights from the mapmaker are very frequent and where the pressure doesn't require you to build a base quickly anyway. Additionaly you can't even build in the middle because of the terrain.
