So, funny enough, the Steam version actually has an exploit that means you basically never have to re-do anything if you party-wipe, and makes the Crystal Tower problems basically non-existent. If you press Start to open the "pause" menu (carried over from the Mobile version i presume), you're given the option to Continue, or Quit. If you select Quit, you close the game, and when you reload it, you're back right when the last quicksave was. This is usually the start of a floor, since the Steam version has auto-quicksaving. But it also quicksaves at the start of every random encounter. So if you wipe in an encounter, and then open the menu and Quit instead of progressing through the Game Over sequence... you spawn right back where you got the encounter that wiped you, no worse for wear. It's hilarious, and yes, it also works for boss fights, putting you back at the start of the room, so the Crystal Tower and World of Darkness... aren't nearly as stressful!
@EqualityEarth3 жыл бұрын
I have no idea why the world map outside the crystal tower was the last “save point” in the game 🤦♂️ (only know the DS version which did *next to nothing* with the top screen)
@OldEnemy128 күн бұрын
According to series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, there was originally going to be a save point when you entered the World of Darkness. However, the test players found the last area not an issue, so the final product would end up not including one. When the game was initially released, there were players who complained about it. Square responded to this feedback by including save points in dungeons in Final Fantasy IV.

Wow, This was a very good review! You explained perfectly all of my major problems with this game, as well as what I liked about it. I think that if you’re only going to play one version, then the remake on steam or DS is just far better than the original version. It fixes the major issues that cropped up in the hardware limitations of the original version on Famicom. The Crystal Palace still sucks and I basically went through the same headache as you did with it (failed first time, so frustrated that I had to go through it again). So much grinding at the end. The trip to the end was fun but just trying to grind enough to beat the final boss is too much of a pain.

When you don't have ANYTHING to do. Trying to get the Onion Knight equipment in the Crystal Tower and reach Level 99 with them because for some stupid reason that job have the biggest stats in the game at the end!

I love how he gets progressively more plastered as the review goes on.

So, every time Johnny says "The four kids", does anyone else immediately think 4Kids tv? Is it just me?

And now we know why 4Kids went bankrupt; they died in the Crystal Tower.

Drunk Johnny is always a treat to watch.... I think the last time with saw Johnny go on a drunken rant in a review was Super Mario Sunshine.

I really liked how his narration gets drunker and drunker throughout the video, I really thought it was just gonna be a visual gag but it really starts to show in the review XD

Way better done than Caddy in his Rascal and KH3 reviews but tbf the mad lad Cad hasn't drunk alcohol since he was 13.
