Just watched The Pitt, loved it. Added to watch list, thanks!

The Pitt really hit for me - as an ER enjoyer this is definitely scratching all the same itches. Just the same energy and sense of pace bouncing between all the different cases and new patients coming in, etc. Many of the qualities Grace liked about how they establish the cast, etc, are mirrored in the ER pilot (which is an all-timer in its own right!) As far as the COVID stuff, I think that's also very true to the spirit of ER which always trafficked in "ripped from the headlines" topics for better and for worse.

Taran - if you have time - watch episodes 7-9 of Severance before rewatch. I think that would be a good amount to rewatch before the new season

I’m not on TikTok but not surprised that is the song from Mufasa that became a viral hit.

I can't remember if I've commented before, but I do love this show and have to ask - thoughts on the Pitt as "appointment" TV? Or can I be lazy and watch it all when the series wraps? 15w sounds like a LONG time to watch week to week... this is NO Game of Thrones 7-10w cycle here... Keep up the great work!!

I actually wish Shifting gears only had Kat Dennings and not Tim Allen. Mainly because he always is the same kind of grumpy dad guy. BUT I ADORE HER! She's awesome

Kat Dennings is the one person from that show that makes me tempted to watch it.

More people should be talking about Better Man. I thought it was one of the best movies of the year. Also, a CGI singing monkey had one of the best acting performances of the year.

They spent 100 million dollars to get people to stream songs from a musical biopic? I’m not sure the logic adds up in this case. I did watch shifting gears (for Kat Dennings) and the reason it’s Tim Allen’s worst show is there is no wife to balance out his Tim Allen-ness. I’m sure they’ll do something about that eventually. Dennings screams less than she did on Two Broke Girls, so that’s something.

I don't think it's the only reason they make the musical biopics but it's certainly a reason to do so. If you look at what studios are greenlighting, they are looking for movies that can make them the most money. The biggest financial reason is the box office return, but there are secondary things like merchandise that can add to that. Now, arguably, something like A Better Man or A Complete Unknown aren't completely the case for this because the streaming money goes to the artist rather than the studio, but I still think it contributes to how I see music biopics fitting into the larger trend of franchise IP.

Oh my god I watched Emilia Perez and WTF WAS THAT I HATED IT SOOOOO MUCH LMAO. Watched it with a trans friend and a recently immigrated Mexican friend and nobody in the room enjoyed it. I also really did not enjoy The Brutalist and did not think it earned its runtime. And it DEFINITELY did not earn its SA scene. Indulgent mess of a movie I would never recommend to anyone. Adrien Brody disappeared into the role but that's the only thing I could say I appreciated. Wicked/Substance robbed! Dune robbed! May Emilia Perez and The Brutalist flop dreadfully this Oscars!
