I’m originally from Pittsburgh, I moved my Family to Denver 10 years ago and after the inflation the last few years I Decided I’m moving back and getting out of expensive Colorado. I wonder how many others like me are trying to return home and are causing this houses market to go up. Interesting stuff.

10 yrs ago we decided that we wanted to leave city life (Philly). We wanted to find a home with a little bit of property. There was no way we could afford something like that in the southeastern part of PA. We noticed that the further west in PA we looked, the more affordable the homes were. We ended up finding exactly what we were looking for about an hour outside of Pittsburgh. It was priced as such that we could even buy it for cash. Southwestern PA has so much to offer as far as real estate is concerned. I highly recommend. Pro Tip: In addition to Pittsburgh metro, Johnstown is another of SW Pennsylvania’s best kept real estate secrets.

Prices may not decrease but volume getting sold will likely go down.

i am from pittsburgh, and was just back there in mid june. they shaved all the hilltops off for the last 30 years and built condos on them and rich houses. well it seems to me that they are running out of hill tops. by the way they never expanded the local roads for all these new people that live there now. look out for left hand turn lanes bleeding into the left lanes. i seen 2 rear enders in 10 days back there. also there are dead animals all over the roads. it is nice and green back there but i could never move back. it can take you 30 minutes to go 5 miles.

My neighbor listed his very nice house for $210 on northside and it is not selling. I'll be selling mine too and don't expect over $150. Problem is drug dealers all over. Also, anything affordable has been snapped up and turned into Section 8.
