Mantle was the Greatest ever!! Mantle had an incredible 4 different season with 100+ RBI. .. in only 18 season played. Thats a WORLD RECORD! AND the always hustling Mantle averaged less doubles per 162 games played than Bengie Molina, the slowest player in MLB History! That Mantle guy was 100X better than Ohtani and Ruth put together! alohaha

I really hope he works out, as I root for my Yankees incessantly. But he is little. Really little. They say around 5'8" or 5'9" but he looks closer to around 5'6". I'm rooting for the young man but I'll believe it when I see it in the majors. ⚾ 🇺🇲

Comparing kids to current/past ML stars is NUTS!! So very many things can go wrong or don’t pan out as expected between the ages of 16 - when the predictions were made - and 24, 25 when we get an idea of what sort of player the kid has actually grown into. Finally, it’s light years from the Dominican dirt fields to MLB competition. Flashing tools is one thing; becoming an established MLB star day in and day out is quite another.

He’s 21, and AAA is the pro level. The vast majority of players don’t break out at the major league level until they’re 23-25.

@@fernandoposada5440 absolutely not. Even a hyped up 17 year old may not debut until 22 or so and may not immediately set the league on fire and it’s not at all unusual or alarming. It’s unusual when they debut earlier than that and do immediately break out. He debuted at 20 and promptly homered off Verlander and hit 4 homeruns in 8 games.

I disagree , he was hyped more than any other prospect other and was billed untouchable when he was 17 by the org . It is only fair to expect more from him than most other prospects. If not then dont hype your prospects so damned much

@ He was the Yankees top prospect but not MLB’s. Jackson Holiday was hyped way more than him and look at how helpless he was during his first stint. You need to adjust your expectations to a realistic level. This isn’t a video game. Not everyone breaks in at 19 and is immediately ready for the majors.

Dominguez is short. He's closer to maybe 5'9, and his defense is awful. He hits a lot better left-handed than right-handed, so he should give up switch hitting.

A very low amount of games and also the games wasn’t consecutive. Very unfair to compare too. I didn’t even think he should have been hyped after his first time when called up against Houston. It was impressive but let him play the games.
