The day you passed away
something about this place changed
we were waiting for signals of love
but you were cold and I guess you'd had enough
spoke my name, I felt your pain
as your eyes cloud up and then close shut
I saw your soul leave this room like it was sick of you
you had this look on your face like you were thinking
just take me away
I'll never change
my father was broken and low
and I saw a side that he'd never shown
so many secrets he kept
some things he was forced to accept
-------------
crossed his heart and hoped to die
I know you fought so hard
and held your pride
I wish you knew my thought and heard my voice
cus I was tied in knots but stood with poise
and when you spoke my name,
I felt your pain as your eyes cloud up and then close shut
I saw your soul leave this room like it was sick of you
you had this look on your face like you were thinking
just take me away
I'll never change

If I had a choice of what band should be performing big fucking stadiums, then I would choose this band. Landon is one of this most talented songwriters alive. Bold statement but god damn I fucking believe it with all my heart. This song proves it

There's not a lot of bands that can make heavy and soft music and still maintain the quality... But Plot nails it every time. I'd be happy if the entire album sounds like this, and I'd also be happy if it's blow-your-balls-off heavy. If it's a mix of both, then all the better. Can't wait for the full album!

It's all bad in the same way. Only difference is I failed him. I was too young and ignorant to help him through, what he was going through. He said he was going to do it and I didn't believe him. We were fighting that week already over stupid bullshit, so I held a grudge until it was over. He just wanted me to take him to a friends place so he could get high. Needed me to drive because he was drunk, I was still pissed so I told him no. I was the last person he asked for and I failed him. He took belts to the upstairs room that we were staying in before we moved into the downstairs rooms that the couple we were living with wanted us to. I thought it was just an act, it was the strongest cry for help I know to this day. I just sat in the living room continuing to watch tv while he march upstairs telling me he was going to do it. I heard the drop, even then it took me 10 minutes; TEN MINUTES to take it seriously enough to check on him. I walked up the stairs, just stared at him for another 5-10. Standing there waiting for him to move, to breath. Nothing. I touched his hand and it was already going cold. I let the belt loose from the hanger post across the wall he used. Checked his pocket for his cell, there was no other phone in reach. Walking down the stairs I still couldn't let it hit me, I was numb for the whole way out of the house. Called 911, they answered and asked what was the emergency. I immediately lost it as I said the words. I lost all containment of it all. I had to call the wife of the couple right after, I didn't want her coming home with her daughter to witness the scene that was playing out. I was broken for a solid 2-3 hours. Then just like that I was able to numb myself in my head at the very least. I had to, just to function enough to eat. It was worse having to use the phone to call every contact in the phone to give them the news they couldn't believe, I had to give up. I could only take so much. I couldn't bare letting them know how much I let him and they down so much. They lost their friend because I let him go, I failed him and all of his friends so much. I even went to his memorial in which so many of his friends/family showed for. I couldn't even bare to look anyone of them in the eyes without feeling the break come on. I knew that if I did it would not be containable. I did not want to share my pain and let their judgement make it worse. I wanted so badly the next few weeks to join him. I wondered why I didn't right there next to him. Maby it was the idea of making Jeremy, Krista, or their daughter find him/us in such a way that would only be heartbreaking. Maby I was just too afraid in general. What ever the case me and my ego seem to have an understanding of what we are punished to live with. I will let it build up over the course of every week, then just open the flood gates alone for no one else to deal with. It's a burden that I'm okay with so long as I can't let something like that happen again, because the moment I even think I'm putting someone else in that kind of threat again I will end myself before it takes control. What ever it was that made me neglect to help a friend in such need, it will not win again.
@AlexandriAxMansoN
@AlexandriAxMansoN 9 жыл бұрын
***** Whoa.. Now, first of all you failed no-one! I mean NOONE! people threaten suicide everyday, but most intelligent know that threatening suicide others is at least a 95% cry for help, and not the real deal.. That 95% wants nothing but attention, bc honestly, most people that actually want to commit suicide don't tell a single soul.. The 5% that tell someone, or even more than one person are contemplating it, but they end up telling people in a cry for help. So don't you dare sit there and tell me that you fucking failed him bc YOU DIDNT! and I'm a very straight up blatently honest person to a fault. I will tell you or anyone else what I think whether it hurts their fucking feelings or not! What I've just read is horrific, and I'm not gonna lie. But, please please believe me when I tell you that it's not your fault hon, bc it's NOT! He brought that upon himself. You didn't tie the belt and kick the chair. Therefore you should not feel guilty or blame yourself for "failing him" whatsoever! Jason there's just so many people out there who cry wolf, and after doing that to people that care for them so long, theres gonna be a logical reason to call their bluff. I'm sorry for your friend, I'm sorry you feel that way, and I wish there was something I could do. The mere tragedy of losing someone in that unreasonable manner, as well as finding them after they told you they were gonna do it must rip out your soul. I understand completely. But you DID NOT FAIL HIM, KILL HIM, FORCE HIM TO DO IT! And the sooner you figure all of that out, your heart will be forever free from guilt. in conclusion, being on drugs can warp a persons mind into saying things they don't mean as well.. with all that said, put the factors together and draw the right conclusion, and please don't blame yourself for not believing him, bc as you said he had previously been saying bit and hadn't fell through with it! it's no wonder you didn't believe it, bc the attention craving cries for help and /or sympathy had gotten old, which in turn made you a non-believer, and that's not your fault either. Its his! No disrespect to your friend, but suicide is unreasonable, cowardly, and selfish. there's nothing this world worth your life. and if my friend Scottie were alive today, I'd tell him the exact same thing that I'm telling you. yes, darkness clouds your mind, yes emptiness haunts people, and yes it seems like the thing to do when you've hit rock bottom.. suicide only hurts the people that the person that committed suicide behind, so that's damn well selfish, and cowardly. Please believe what I'm telling you, bc my story is similar.. I blamed myself just as you are bc I used to date the guy, and a month after the break up it happened. He was heartbroken but that's not why he took his life. He had been in an abusive family for years, which resorting to heavy drug use (meth), and the side effects of that drug after being up for days caused him extreme paranoia, the comedowns we're harsh, and he simply couldn't handle strolling down the path in which he was heading. Not all people who commit suicide are on drugs, but that definitely makes hopeless negative thoughts worse, bc it alters your mind. nobody can ever be blamed or should feel guilty or failure over the suicide of a friend or loved one. People have their own minds, ways, personalities, etc. and I've found that people I thought I actually knew, I didn't. but trust me, it's not in any way shape not form your fault. even if he hadn't told you, and he was planning it, there's nothing at all that you could've done to stop it... and I feel really bad for you bc you remind me a lot of myself bc I blame myself for everything, and I've been in your shoes. It's really rare to come across a kindred spirit.. but I honestly believe that you're one of them.. as well as I am. you can only do so much as a human being, but blaming yourself for someone else's actions are inadequate. Please stop torturing yourself over something that you had no control over... I'll give you my kik username if you ever want to talk. KZbin is no place to communicate, especially on a subject such as this.. once again, I'm really sorry for your loss, but more importantly I'm extremely sorry for the heaviness in your heart due to guilt of something that you can't do anything at all about.. I know it hurts, I know it's hard, but you must let this go and forgive yourself for thinking an atrocity was your fault. your heart and mind don't deserve such torture, pain, agony, and guilt. No one does. :(((

Someone needs to redo vocals on this to make it sound even more like Saosin and exclude the breakdown. That'd be sick ! IMO at least. I will try to do it, but my vocal range is very limited. Can't hit highs like Cove Reber does :(

Ugh. I know I'm gonna get the whole "bands change" lecture but I don't know how I feel about this. I hope this is the softest song on the album. It's good but not my cup of tea. My Old Ways was cool and Crows was fucking awesome but still.. Ugh.

This band is one of the only few, that can pull it off. They are allowed to do this.
