It's crazy that this is the same band that wrote the songs like "Pray for Plagues" and "Braille (For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only)." I love both their old and new stuff, from their first to newest album, but this band's evolution is one of the most drastic changes in any I've ever heard, in a good way too. I like the experimentation they've done along their discography. I just hope this is as soft as they get. I've liked the new stuff but I'm hoping for a return to heavier music on their next release. I know they'll never match the heaviness of their first couple albums because of damage to the singer's vocal cords, but some songs like Alligator Blood would be nice, with the shout screamimg type vocals.

when i first heard this song i was scared because i've never listened this kind of genre before but after i listened it a couple of times, all those screams became more bearable to me. now i really like this song. i'm trying to say this: i see many negative comments about BMTH like "old albums were better" or "this is produced for new targets-fan girls" but thanks to this and other that's the spirit songs, i kinda enjoy myself and widening my musical taste. without BMTH i wouldn't ever consider listening to this kind of music. so maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on this album or the band. thanks for reading x

Oli couldn't scream well because he fucked up his voice! That's why that's the spirit was a thing so Oli could just take a break from screaming. My friend ran into Curtis Ward a few weeks ago and they had a little chat about his past with the band and how he feels about their current fanbase. For me personally, Sempiternal was their peak. I know a lot of emo kids down in the comments think that the mediocre Count Your Blessings was their greatest effort but I personally thought this band got better which each consecutive album. But the last couple releases have been okay to say the least. I enjoyed Drown but it really threw me off at first but after a few listenings it grew on me. But this is just too different for my tastes personally. If I had heard this on the radio or something I would never in a million years think that it was BMTH. Clean vocals are fine but this sounds like something that I would hear on KROQ in like 2004 or some shit. Huge step backwards. At least the clothes are still cool.

George Washington Indeed, I also think that Semptiternal was their peak. They changed their style but kept their identity. Honestly I couldn't say that I recognise this as BMTH, cause they made a HUGE change on their style in a short period of time. Besides I liked the music, hope they keep the style of Semptiternal, honestly was my favorite. Other thing, there is no human who can keep singing Deathcore for a long time, it fucks the vocal chords. Bands such as Asking Alexandria and Bring me the horizon changed their style, putting more clean vocals onto their music to not completely mess their vocal's voice.

The lyrics are definitely on point, I just fear for them getting softer than this. But if Oli looses the passion to scream, it's definitely a sound we're never going to get back, and I fear for that. It's an interesting concept though of throwing the children in there, but it's not a bad song. I just wish they would release an album with softer songs and harder songs to appease both crowds. Every single album by BMTH has been different from the last. The two that are closest to eachother are their ep (this is what the edge of your seat was made for) and count your blessings; and even they are different. I've loved them from the beginning and have evolved with them and love them, but if others have done the same and are not fans of their new stuff, that isn't bad or wrong. Nor does it make them not "true fans", I feel the way they do with other bands; like I don't love all of Slayer's or Social Distortion's newer music(two on of my favorite bands)

Last year I was really depressed and I would listen to BMTH all the time. I thought I couldn't live without music. Then Big changes happened and I couldn't listen to these songs anymore.
