Been thinking about this since 2018, finally someone said it.

Intelligence isn't an inherited trait. Highly intelligent people have children with lower intelligence, and people with low intelligence have normal and above average children. Barring physical abnormalities, nurturing seems to play a much bigger role in human cognitive development. The thing about our society is that it is extremely anti-intellectual. This is why people seem so stupid. They aren't. They've just come up in a world where acting otherwise is puts them at a social advantage to a higher degree than being seen as above average intelligence would. Even being perceived as having below average intelligence is more advantageous because people will at least feel sorry for you, whereas smarter people might make them feel inferior themselves, and no one likes being made feel inferior, especially not by people they perceived as egghead's who are looking down on them.

The problem with the "everyone can be an entrepreneur" mantra is, most people demonstrably can't. Businesses fail about 99% of the time. Yet people keep selling this idea because people keep buying it. Yes maybe 100 million people on Earth could achieve this, but most can't.

The babushka buying sausage where it's cheap to sell to folks coming out of a metro station is an entrepreneur.

I think the drop in birth rate is just nature. Every government is freaking out because it has an aging population, but maybe the problem is not lack of young people but instead too many old people - and the younger generations should be slowing things down and instead of building new houses we need to learn to have a sustainable population that does not grow over time.

it's not nature humanity never lived in so fkd up times it's not sustainable exactly because of young people not having kids even with conditions they still won't have them bro stop living illusion we culturally die

@h82fail Most people would be too stupid to think this. I can tell you've been drinking out if the toilet. You sound like you need some electrolytes!

If billions of us seek to make "brands" then were will all drown in a sea of extraneous reputational information.... Or are we already?

-> in shockingly few generations we bred some dogs to be incredibly smart, yet bred other dogs to be neurotic or fairly dumb - well, dumber than coyotes.

"sovereign entrepreneurs" with online "brands and businesses" really means trust funds and nepotism

Sometimes but not always. Most of our community are hard working people from all walks of life with no silver spoons. If you have a passion or skill in anything it can be turned into a product or service. That is the beauty of the online education space.

Some of these comments are frightful and you know which ones I'm talking about. It's not a fictional movie, it's a documentary.
