This is the way to do accessibility. It doesn't force itself on you and people who don't need them won't be affected at all. And as someone with a programming background I know these features could be coded in less than a day so I know it doesn't "take resources away" from other areas. And this could mean the difference between someone enjoying the game to completion or giving up in frustration

My little girl loves to watch me play games, but avoids many of them because she is in the ASD and feels physical and emotional discomfort when faced with the possibility of failure. It’s like she can’t enjoy a story if she is too focused on trying to make it through a game unscathed. I love options like this that open up a way for her to start gaming with training wheels on… and the upside is I can choose to have the actual challenge for myself, too

I think some people forget that little kids just getting into video games is a demographic companies want to encourage. I have a little niece and nephew who love to play video games but who aren't really that good at a lot of games. Accesibility options are a GOD SEND when it comes to adjusting difficulty for them and as they get better putting the difficult up isn't an issue and they can replay the game to better match their improved skill level.

Absolutely nothing against pre-poll settings, but please stop belittling the kids. Me and my peers grew up on complex games and consoles, and nothing, did not die, love complex games. There are not a few children in the world who at 7-10 years old pass Souls and another games.

at the same time, having to learn things the hard way is not too bad for a child, if the gameplay is lenient with retries as to not frustrate the player, it can be very helpful on the development of motor skills, accessibility features are helpful for a wide demographic but, in excess they prevent the user from developing the skills they would need to play other games in the future, children dont care if they beat a game or not, they will most likely not even remember, but developing hand eye coordination at a young age is going to be very helpful throughout their whole life.

Its a good idea to have tons of accessibility features. I very probably wont need them, but sometime, it can be annoying to have to redo over and over a more challanging part (especially if you are tired/sick/etc.) and having those to be able to do them without skipping those part is always fun, especially if you can easily toggle them on and off. Makes me think of cheat codes from back in the days

Day 1 for me & the little one. I love the QoL options & feel more games should have options like that so after you beat a game you can turn on/off cheats for replay value. I miss those days from the N64 where a lot of the games have them back then. Now you can only find broken games & paid dlc stuff that gives you an edge on some games to beat. Ok, let's go physical as well.

Having options is never wrong. The new Prince of Persia did it really good. I like to get lost in Metroidvanias but to my friend doesn't so he enable "guided objective" feature and he is loving the game. The more options for players, the better.

I never understood why people frown upon OPTIONS and even some reviewers complaining about customizable aspects and variety bloating. This should all be a basic staple of games and praised. If you don't like them, don't use those options or don't spend time in the customization menus and just play the braindead meta or whatever you have on hand. I mean they gave you OPTIONS, how can that be bad? Apart from the PvP and competitive PvE multiplayer games, there are too many games that don't have options or customization because of normies pretending to be hardcore gamers giving devs the wrong feedback. Please, go back to wasting your time on social media platforms and leave the games to people who actually care about them.

I love the concept about the accessbility opotions. Kids these days are used to playing 3D games like minecraft, and often having trouble with old style 2D games. It is opposite of my generation. can’t wait to play this with my son!

There should be accessibility options but I think this goes a bit too much. Make an easy mode and dynamically reduce the difficulty further if the player keeps failing on a section. But the player shouldn't be expected to go through a list of settings to design the challenges for themselves, the developers should have. Like it'd be better if it was represented in game. Super Mario 3D World presented a Golden Tanuki Suit if the player is struggling. It doesn't ask the player to go into a menu and turn on a series of options.

I was enjoying this so much, but there are quite some performance issues on thw switch version. :/ there worst being that i have no been softlocked right in chapter 4. I cant trigger the greeting from violet that will allow me to use the bow and access the shooting mini-game, so im stuck. This game is quite creative and good, got about 2 hours 40 minutes in, am about 1/3 of the way through the game it seems, so it's not a big game by any means. It's very creative and fresh...however I have two gripes with the game, first is, why the heck can't we manually save our progress??? It only has auto save....it's almost 2025 and not having the ability to save your game us bonkers. Second issue is the game feels like they didn't go far enough with their ideas...the foundation of the game is very bare bones and shallow, the trailers make you think the game is a lot more vast then it really is. The game should have had another year of development so the devs could flush out the basics of the games foundation, it's a good game but in the end it really does feel like a $40 game instead of a AAA full priced game.
