I have, in the past few years fallen off the pack-light wagon. I did travel,for a month in France with just a small nylon shoulder bag. I hadthe outfit I was wearing, plus 2 others. A pair of shoes, a windbreaker/rain jacket and a cardigan. My clothes included a pair of wrinkle-proof trousers a wrinkle-proof long- sleeve shirt, a short-sleeve knit top, a skirt 3 pair of underwear and a pair of socks. My philosophy was: the clothes you're wearing which must be hand washable & dry overnight, one outfit that perhaps needs washing and one clean outfit. It was perfect. Nobody else cares what you're wearing, you are a stranger to pretty much everyone and who cares what anyone else thinks anyway. As long as your clothes are clean, presentable, inoffensive and versatile, what else do you need.

This is the video I needed without knowing I needed it!! Being plus size and needing to see how one packs things us bigger travelers use more often, like extra shorts or a house dress, is the type of carry-on tips I need!! Seeing you getting by perfectly with half a suitcase and backpack is inspiring too, I definitely won't feel too bad if I have a few more items than that 😂😂 if you can do it with HALF, then I'll survive a month or two with a full suitcase for sure

Very inspiring for us bigger ladies! What else I like? So much personality in your clothing instead of just all black and white for mixing and matching. I usually pick a color or two and pack to mix and match but try to have some patterns or accessories for personality. Anyway, I like the minimalist approach. I find that I'm more uncomfortable when I pack too MUCH than when I pack too little (which doesn't ever happen btw....) Thank you for your video.

This is one of the top packing videos I have seen in years. You compartmentalize each category, which creates a basic template for anyone packing. Each packing cube or pouch gets a specific 'assignment', and then it all fits together. I find if there are too many pockets and pouches, it is hard to remember where I put what, and your system is streamlined and straightforward. Thanks. P.S. I have watched this video more than once, it is a great refresher before traveling again.

Only one pair of pants and several tops? I pack way to many bottoms. I don’t like jumpsuits because when I have to use the bathroom, I have to be fast 😄. It’s part of being old! But longer dresses (midi to tea length casual) have become my best friends. One and done! I always have thin bike shorts under. Im very happy to see a plus size minimalist packing because all the “only in a carryon” videos I see have people who are stick thin. This is more realistic for many of us.

This is perfect for my upcoming trips! I recently spent 26 days in Turkey and attempted to pack just carry-on and a backpack. Well it was Lufthansa so I was well over the 8kg limit and was forced to check my bag (I was at 11kg for both backpack and suitcase). On that trip it was clear I could have packed far less! It was hot, I had to handwash often. Love the tips here and will look into packing cubes as I was unsure of them before. My backpack always weighs about what my carryon does! I have to put clothes in my backpack though! We made it to Portugal for a week long company event and they made us check out carryons at the gate and we’d have to go to baggage claim to retrieve. The bags were not coming out! We had to make a decision to run for it to make our international flight! We had six days of tours and then more formal events at night. Our bags arrived on the seventh day, moments before we left for the second leg to London. I was so thankful for the clothes in my backpack! They got me through!

I just needed to see how someone else does it. You Rock! My trip will be in the Winter so I wanted a coat to, but the way you packed now I know exactly how to do it. Don't agree with many of your choices but as you say, we're all different and we all travel differently. What I DID love was how varied and colorful your travel wardrobe is. A lot of travelers recommend a very bland (blah) wardrobe. I love wearing black as a base colour but many travel bloggers take it to an extreme imo, so this was a refreshing change 😊 I would love to see a video of you modeling all these outfit combinations but what I felt was really missing was showing us the pants you're wearing (ie your travel outfit). I've been trying hard to pack carry-on only. We're cruisers so I find I take a lot of extra stuff for the three of us. Depending on the line, we have access to self-serve laundry, but others we don't. Do you have a jacket or a rain layer? I never go without either doesn't matter where I go. Forgot my rain layer once and it rained the entire trip. I didn't see your bathing suit either, just the cover up. I know mine are not exactly small being plus sized.

I don’t personally swim, no matter where I go, but that would be packed into one of my packing cubes if I was a swimmer. I don’t tend to take rain jackets unless the weather is pointing towards it (hasn’t rained the whole 3 weeks of my trip so far) but if I do bring a jacket that would be something i wear on me and not pack

It would be nice to see how you would pack for a cooler climate. Say, Britain. Thanks.
@lifeofdanie2 жыл бұрын
Definitely plan to do that! I stayed in London for a month over Christmas last year in just a carry on, so it’s definitely possible!

Since all your clothes are on one side of your carry on case, you could have everything from the backpack on the other side. Then you'd only have one bag to carry.

Definitely an option, but my backpack has things that I would take out more often mid travel, which would be annoying to have in the suitcase :)

What a fantastic carry on packing video and so refreshing to have a lady with beautiful curves (absolutely not putting down any slim women) as a fellow curvey lady this is inspiration. Yes please to more videos showing all the other stuff in your backpack #packing goals 🤩

What brand is your suitcase, what are the dimensions and the weight?
@lifeofdanie Жыл бұрын
I no longer have this suitcase, but it was the largest carry on size allowed by airlines, as long as you go by those measurements, you can get a similar one :)

I went to the backpack link and couldn’t find one like yours, only one that zipped only partway down & had a different attachment style for the additional pouch…. Could yours have been replaced by another style?
@lifeofdanie2 жыл бұрын
Interesting! They must have replaced the style, I’ve had mine for about 6 months, so they must have recently come out with a new one, that’s unfortunate! Will be hunting for backpack options for you guys!

How much does your bag weigh? I’m sure you are under the limit but international flights usually weigh your bags and I see many carry on only packers who are going over the weight limits
@lifeofdanie Жыл бұрын
Honestly I fly multiple times a month and almost never have my bag weighed, even with strict budget airlines, but I always make sure my bag is at the limit, especially here since it was half empty :)

Would you share the brand if your jumpsuits, please?
@lifeofdanie2 жыл бұрын
I wish I could tell you, but I’ve had these particular ones for years and I bought them from some store in Brazil, and for the life of me can’t remember the name, and the tags aren’t recognizable designers, sorry!

May I just ask whose bag is in the background, looks like one of those hold luggages ?

Great eye! That bag is a checked bag. I’m traveling with a friend at the moment and she doesn’t travel carry on only :)

just a question, you only took the 1pair of pants that you were wearing the top you are wearing, 3 more tops equal 4 outfits wearing just that 1 pair of pants? and the 2 jumpsuits wow I could never get away with 1 pair of pants but I am an over-packer but I don't travel often and am trying to become more like you, thanks for showing you don't need to bring your house with you lol
@lifeofdanie2 жыл бұрын
I definitely used to be much more of an overpacker, so I try to bring things I know I can easily rewear, and those pants go with all my tops, so I decided to not pack any more! It’s possible with time to learn what you truly need and don’t need :)
