THE POEM from PALESTINE that HAUNTS ME EVERYDAY: "IF I MUST DIE" by RAFAAT ALAREER

I was honored to be invited to a major university to speak about media misinformation regarding this war on Gaza. I decided to end the lecture with a poetry reading, to keep the words of Dr. Rafaat Alareer alive for future generations. This poem will haunt me for the rest of my life.
IF I MUST DIE, BY RAFAAT ALAREER
If I must die,
you must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail)
so that a child, somewhere in Gaza
while looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad who left in a blaze-
and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself-
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there
bringing back love
If I must die
let it bring hope
let it be a tale

It was recorded that the prophet and judge Samson died in Gaza. Professor Alareer's name, along with his family's, was added to a long list of strong people that also passed away there.

Because he was outspoken about the occupation on various international news interviews and famous professor at the the university. They have methodically assassinated most of the university faculty and leadership and bombed all the universities, historical buildings and institutions and eliminated their leaders. Their objective is to make it impossible to live there and sustain life.

Because he was a popular professor with a massive impact all over the world. They want to kill all the intellectuals so they cannot teach the next generation. That is why they target the doctors as well.
