This is what I love about your videos and your program. You speak to the least conditioned individuals with respect and understanding while giving them a new way of thinking about what is possible. #respect

Hi Mark!! If you recall I started your overweight & Deconditioned program aug 23, but was afraid to actually press play for a few months. I officially started in Nov last year often repeating, well I am here to tell you I'm on cycle 4, wk 2 of the dumbell 2 arm bat and since Nov of last year with diet change I've lost 30lbs. I still have my plantar fasciitis on my left ankle mostly, because the pain vanished on the right one. The weight loss is great but walking was something I always feared the most, it was too painful!! I started out at 15mins a couple weeks ago slow pace at work during lunch, then up to 20/30 then as of yesterday 3/16/24 I walked an hour on a treadmill at a slow pace. I'm extremely happy!. I have the 10 month prog, but I miss the kettlebells of cycle 1. My 10lbs dumbell are not as challenging. Starting weight 317.6 Current weight 285 F - 5'4/female Program - overweight & deconditioned individuals.

One of if not the best video I have ever seen that breaks down and then addresses the idea and process of RE-CONDITIONING. That is very different from sharpening up already decent condition. As someone who was once athletic, took reconditioning in youth and middle age for granted (it was easy) then was injured in my late fifties, and took a five-year break from conditioning - This advice is really excellent, well thought out, and valuable. Re-conditioning after age 60, following a five-year hiatus - is VERY different than it would have been earlier in life (for me) Thank you very much for this.

I'm nearly 60 and at times in my life I have been in exceptionally good physical condition. Recently, however, I been dealing with illnesses, primarily viruses that just will not go away and the level of deconditioning I experience is absolutely profound. Touching a kettlebell after a month off feels like I have been gone for a year. Mark, I appreciate your message - it is one of hope and starting from a very basic level, progressing gradually but consistently. Hope is such a main theme in your videos and it is sincerely appreciated! With hope, one can find the motivation and desire to begin the journey.

I very rarely comment on these. But I've been over 300 pounds before. And yeah there is this fear, there is a "what's the point." JUST MOVE for 20mins. I went from over 300 pounds to being a significantly healthier weight. This particular message is 100% for people who are in that state. This message is gold for the "deconditioned." Just get up... and MOVE for 20 minutes. It snowballs into a better life.

I really appreciate you bringing us this series. I have been injured and hospitalized several times and walking brought me back each time. Walking was also key to my gaining control over my blood glucose. In addition, my brother suffers from Parkinson's and other illnesses and just can't walk much of the time. I appreciate your kind approach to people who have very little hope of ever gaining mobility of any kind. Thanks.

I am just a bit overweight but in very good shape (doing long tours up to 60 k in one day). But I know from myself how hard it is after a long illness to come back to life. Every change and new start begins in your mind, with your will and a single step. Thank you for such a very respectful and encouraging video.

The idea of small, but regular, incremental increases works really well IMHO. I got out of shape quite badly during covid, and got back into shape by starting with 25 press-ups, sit ups and squats, and adding one each day. Did a lot of walking too.

Mark, first I want to say I love your content. I'm 70 and suffering with an arthritic knee. Walking is not currently in the picture. Running is likely a thing of the past. However bike riding is now (and for the past 10 years) my favorite outdoor activity. I wonder if you have considered content in this arena? There is road, gravel, and mtn biking just to name a few topics (each of which could be expanded). Whether you include any bike topics or not, your content is great.

I used the same approach to work my way back, except with walking burpees. Started with 2, eventually working my way up to 200. Now I mix them in with kettlebell and club workouts I'm learning from you.

I started walking as Mark suggested with a one minute walk and adding to it gradually. I wasn’t so de conditioned but wanted to go through the process. I worked up to 20 minute walk which I still do but have added a weighted vest to increase difficulty.
