I did enjoy how they hyped up Let’s go with time split between those trailers, made me excited. As opposed to Gen7 trailers, where too much was shown. I think following Pokémon are a staple at this point and could possibly be in Legends z-a. Since i saw that trainer with a Hawlucha trying to get a Dratini, they could find items for you(possibly) whilst walking around as well.

The leaks are also bad because they showed the employees including the formers' contacts. Merit matters to ensure the leaks would never happen. Releasing the concepts in the books would be a good idea since Japan has been doing that before.

The people who are legitimately upset because we didn't get a game in 2024 need to chill. Find another hobby. Play some other games. You can't cry about the sad state of their games and then complain when they miss a single year. Other devs are taking 5-7 years on games. The fact that they pumped Scarlet and Violet out in like three years and its as good as it is was insane. The Last of Us Part 2 came out in 2020 and we're not getting Intergalactic until 2026 at thr earliest. "That's Sony, a lot more detail goes into their games." Ok, the Mario Odyssey team then. It came out in 2017 and we don't even have a game announced from them yet. Retro Studios didn't release anything since 2014. Development takes time

The people complaining that they are not getting a Pokemon game this year are largely not the same people who complain about the quality of recent Pokemon games. Also Scarlet and Violet "as good as it is"? Really, now? It's easily in the top 2 worst Pokemon games. It barely functions and is easily the worst open world game I have ever played. What's "insane" is how bad of a release it is.

The gap year is good, I just wish they had a filler game in development. Having side games under development that are done by another studio, such as Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, Pokken, another Colosseum-style game, etc etc would do wonders for the franchise just as they have in the past.

​@The_EXolatl_is_Thou To be fair, the performance of SV is terrible by pretty much everyone's standards. I think the games did a lot right. Story and character wise they did great imo. The gameplay loop is great and Tera raids are fun for a bit. However not having any sort of battle facility takes away part of my usual endgame experience and the glitches I experienced early were immersion destroying. Didn't even hear the full elite 4 theme in game cuz the memory leak caused it to loop the beginning of the music. I think out of all the open world games I've played, SV has the ugliest and least interesting one. Great idea, but mediocre execution. Games like breath of the wild, fenyx, and genshin offer amazing sights and SV offers outdated looking mountains and 4 fps windmills. Fun game but released too early. I'd also guess his other game is sw/sh.

I think a black and white remake is very possible. They can do the opposite of what they did at the end of generation 8 because now the legends game will be the strong game and the remakes will be filler until the new generation comes out.

I'm ok with the radio silence with the story and characters not being revealed but i do appreciate the occasional quarterly or seasonal post of either actual new Pokémon. "Here's the first starter in its first stage, we can't wait to show you how it evolves when the game rolls out" to give a sample of new region "We're giving this old classic Pokémon some love by revamping it with a regional form/evolution, etc." Without showing it if they want to tease our interest.

Honestly, given the quality of some of the main series titles in the past 5-10 years, the extra time they're taking should be very valuable. Radio silence is not necessarily a bad thing, especially for only a single year. Game development takes time, and if you rush it the quality suffers. There's a good reason the community was actually glad that Legends Z-A wasn't coming out until 2025. I for one am pretty excited to see what they've been cooking up.

Well dlc was worked on by a seperate team, atleast when it came to swsh dlc. Idk about SV’s dlc. I think SV’s dlc was worse then Swsh’s in the sense that Swsh’s dlc added restricted sparring battle facility and rental Pokémon battle facility in the form of dynamax adventures, the galarian style tournament, allowed you to shiny hunt every legendaries from gens 1-7 (something which SV doesn’t allow you to do), also catching the legendary roaming birds was a hell of a lot more fun then the way legendary Pokémon were obtained in the dlc of SV. Also the legendaries in swsh’s dlc are programmed to correctly have 4-5 perfect IV’s where as in SV the ivs of the legendaries arn’t programmed correctly so they are random and naturally bad IV’s.

Im not saying that it's gonna happen, but there is plenty of evidence to say otherwise in terms of a new game release other than ZA. BDSP came out on November of 2021, followed by Legends Arceus 2 months later. Then 1 month loater Scarlet and Violet is announced for Fall that same year. In fact every main title game since Gen 6 with the exception of ZA, we've gotten every game the same year that they're revealed. There is still a real chance we get Gen 10 this year. Nothing is off the table.

i dont know anything about you or anyone here but im a pokemon fan since the first game and for me its not a break.. they made worse games every year- and clearly they are struggling to keep up making games so they just took another year. this game will most likely be a huge let down and probably lifeless. No it isn't. This argument is not accurate to how game development works. Generally, these deadlines are set by the developers or publishers. The stress they generally get to release by said dates are often a result of shareholder pressure, as well.

As a VGC player, I'm not sure if we're not getting gen 10 until 2026, mostly because of how The Pokemon Company manages competitive formats and rulesets. The final format of every generation consists of allowing two restricted Pokemon per team, which is logically the next format after the current one. I highly doubt they'll keep the format after Worlds for a whole year. They could try new formats to stretch it out one more year but I can't think of many more options that are still balanced.
