You are right! It is based on a book. Not only that but two of Chris Van Allsburg's other books were adapted into iconic movies. Jumanji and Zathura.

I think the elf was telling the Know-it-all Kid he wasn't supposed to be in the bag with the presents, not the train. The reason he said that to him and not the others was because he was the only one who tried to get defensive about it.

4:12, Actually Yes and No, Tom Hanks did the motion cap for all the characters in movie but the other cast did the voices on them except for the 3 Characters he voices

Tom Hanks did not do all the motion captures himself. There were others who also did motion captures. Peter Scolari did the motion capture for Lonely Boy.

I'm sure I'm the only one on the planet who actually doesn't mind the smartass yellow shirt kid. He's my favorite character other than the conductor. (I was never confident enough as a kid to talk to other kids like he does, but I also had weirdly specific knowledge about a handful of things. Especially rules)

Staffing of the Polar Express is a union thing. A lottery among interested members is conducted. If chosen, they take leave from their regular railroad job for three days. They get double their normal pay for this duty.

Happy Christmas Jax. It's a crazy coincidence that this is based on a book by the same author who wrote the book the Jumanji films are based on. I haven't read Jumanji, but I still have a copy of the Polar Express book. You can whip through that one in about two minutes, and they managed to make that into this 90-minute film.

I first saw this movie in school luckily I had the easiest classes I could take and was in special education for a good chunk of time so I could watch a whole movie, my favorite character is the hobo ghost

You should react to more Christmas movies such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas (all three adaptions: The Chuck Jones animated one, the live-action one with Jim Carrey and Illumination's animated one with Benedict Cumberbatch as the main character), The Muppet Christmas Carol, Mickey's Christmas Carol (both are great adaptions of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol in their own ways), The Nightmare Before Christmas A Charlie Brown Christmas and the Rankin-Bass specials like Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and The Year Without Santa Claus.

Have the book for my son, still have it. Wasn't impressed with the movie with everyone looking and sounding like Tom Hanks and the elves were not very cute, quite old, grumpy and not very pleasent looking with no personnalithy. But as usual you have a great reaction, Merry Christmas. ❤🐑🎄
