Keep in mind the captain's quarters were delayed so they could give it the polish that it deserves. After several weeks we got this... The Hammerhead and Carrack captain's quarters are functionally and aesthetically better than the Polaris.

1:35 Probably because they needed to trigger an animation/reposition. It would be very cool if this were like the ladders and sitting in the chair automatically turned the character to the desk.

The chair being swiveled I think is because they wanted to bolt the chair to the ground and not be able to move about, in the event the ship is under fire? So the swivel allows the chair to be bolted down, and also allow you to get in and out of the chair/table. Ooooor maybe they just thought it looked cool like star trek lol I quite appreciate that the quarters feel very military and utilitarian which makes a lot of sense since its a military vessel. Would've been extremely jarring if it was warm and cozy, and would cause some disparity and animosity between the captain and crews.

The RSI living quarters are all very clinical and clean looking, hopefully in the future they will reclaimer up a bit with some grot to make it feel nicer!

All ships have a "low lighting" mode on the panels you can pick. For the Polaris it changes all the lights to a soft, yellow incandescent lighting that is really soothing.

@@DedLeader That's the point of the nick nacks and souvenirs. It's also a military ship. That's the whole idea to be standardized and spartan. I think it fits for a Polaris.

The Captain's Quarters look like it was done by a procrastinating Intern. Thrown together at the last minute and just not finished or "polished". I get the decorate it yourself concept, but they could have put a few books on the shelves and or a plant box like at the end of the hall in the crew quarters.The desk should have had one of those camera access stations like in the Brig and med bay, so the Captain could see the cameras they already have installed, like the hanger, med bay, brig, and maybe have added one to the bridge looking forward down onto the flight deck. So many missed opportunities for that space.

I will pay booku dollareedoos if they allow per room aesthetic changes, a customiser mode would be grand, change what your bedframe looks like, bed clothes n wall etc, wall paint would be a good start. Thoughts?

​@@arenomusic What’s great about this funding model is that the mix of non-custom and fully bespoke options could easily bring in way more revenue than most ships do. And since it doesn’t even hint at giving players anything beyond cool visuals and vibes, the community would totally be on board with it. Plus, you could extend this to bases too-players could set up custom shops and actually make them feel unique! Maybe it’s a silly idea, but I really think this alternative funding model could build a ton of goodwill and blow the current models out of the water.

It's a military ship. You should check what looks like a modern milutary quarter and captain quarter. There's no such luxury, just what you need. Beside, comparing a big military ship to a giant yach isn't that logical, even irl.
