Thanks for your comment I played traditional for nearly 25 years so I’m actually technically more at ease there but I kept switched back and forth while playing which I felt stops the flow so in the last years I’ve been playing mainly matched

All of your snare rim shot/clave strokes are the same volume. When Stewart is playing the 123 123 123 pattern on the snare, 1 is the loudest hit...2 is a little softer....and 3 is the softest hit. It gives it a pulse. This cover sounds too "robotic" imo. Listen to the original.
