The Hungarians are a solid bunch I think as well. Agreed on the Fins. Any time I met one in Sweden, we had a common understanding. To the point where if we got along, surprisingly well, and then the where are you from question popped up, a feeling of clarity was, possibly mutually, overwhelming. I think common experiences bring us together in thought and actions - we had the Germans and the Soviets, the Finns had the Swedish and the Soviets, and you had the English Germano-Franco-Nordic mongrels. May your land stay green and fertile, your pints tall and cold, your whisky strong, your women pretty and the Island come united from the Westminster thieves! Slàin te math!

I left Northern Ireland in 2009 for Britain after working with Eastern Europeans with Eastern European accents but you could understand them, when I came back 9 years later they all spoke the Northern Irish dialect, which I can't understand being a Southerner. A Romanian girl who speaks fluent Tyronese interprets for me particularly when local non migrants who from both communities speak a form of English no one in the Anglosphere could interpret.
