Very clear, thorough and concise exposition of some main ideas in Plato's political theory. Thanks.

Good job. Yet I'd advice you to put subtitles that matches what you say. Everytime you say plato It claims that it is Play Dooh. lol. But again.. good job!

if you never suffered a day in your life like and you never were hungry if you never were living on the streets if you never ever felt like you'd rather live outside then inside her you never know how far you could take your life I'm for real cuz you're human instinct is gone you're not you don't have the instinct to go look for food to go feed yourself you don't have no instinct to do anything that means something that really means something

If Plato had no sympathy for the arts , why did he think the guardians should be taught art, poetry, music etc
@aramalaura755 жыл бұрын
That it is possible because of an aproach that he has on Phaidros - About Love, or nonetheles, about speeches. The guardians are people who have to know the art of oratory, and in Socrate's oppinion in this dialogue, and also the only one where he will ever have a more friendly approach on poets and arts, the public speaker, in our case, the guardian, needs to know to construct a dialogue ( how to start, which other oppinions to consider, what proof to bring and what arguments should be made in the end, as well as "to know what shells a soul takes", and with this knowledge to be able to say the right words to the right people. By example to the afraid individual you are gonna want to adopt a gentle manner of speaking and so on. Socrates considers that is the job of the artist to know about the soul, and to know about the soul it's a necessity when taking the job of public speaking, in our case, the guardian.

Did Plato not live in the time of democracy without human rights?- and duties.

There's people today that don't have no human instinct they'll never ever know how it is to be the person they know they can because they don't at this point they don't know who they are they've been beaten down by Society but whatever but that human instinct is not there brilliant
