This system seems the ideal solution for my brother's job as groundsman (and pondsman?) on an estate in Worcestershire, England. Any distributors of this in England?

I bet that stuff could be mixed into a compost pile and be great for adding nutrients to soil.

I get a kick out of people who would "LOVE to have a duckweed problem." Here is an official invitation to anybody who wants to come to my farm pond and BASK in the joys of removing this mess from my pond. I doubt you'd last one hour in the hot sun skimming and raking this mess . . . I know from experience. But I'll supply the rakes and nets and anything else you need. Just bring your pick-up and haul off as many loads as you want!

Our ~1acre pond didn't have a duckweed issue until about 2 or 3 years ago. For the past 2 years, it has COVERED the surface. Not sure why the change, but it is annoying to say the least. Can't see fish any longer. Can't spray much at a time b/c of harm to aquatic life. Mechanical means may be a solution. Now, I am just curious to know if my pigs or cattle would eat it.

it spreads by transmission so a duck for instance that has come to your lake from another with weed on its body will deposit it on your lake. it then multiplies by dividing in two then those two parts divide again and so on. In a matter of months you have a problem.
