I wear a patch on back of my leather vest that says JESUS IS LORD. What that means to me is saying that He is God. He is the Son of God. He sits at the right hand of God the Father. To me it says that Jesus is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning and the end. Jesus is the great I AM. It certainly doesn't mean I do everything right, never do wrong, never have a bad day, always stand high on the mountain, because these things aren't true. To say "Jesus is Lord" isn't about us or anything we've done, that statement is about Him and what He has done. When I first heard the term "Lordship Salvation", I didn't know what that is. Well of course I recognize Him as Lord, I'm not saved because I believe He's a good man, or just a prophet, or a statue on top of a temple someplace. I'm saved because I believe He is everything He claimed to be, and I put my faith in Him. I'm not a perfect follower, but I have a perfect Savior.

Amen brother 😃😃...that is that.I remember one sister saying, qoute:"He is Lord wheather you like it or not,we don't make Him anything" and Jesus is our Saviour first,before He becomes our teacher.Some people realy mess up the Scriptures to their own distruction.Anyways,what a great and wonderfull God we have!!And we cannot thank Him enough for what He has done at the Cross.Perfect love and mercy for human kind.Even though we are strugling in the flesh,He knows our weaknesses and is a compassionate High priest!!Haleluyah!!

@Rodrick Evans Just so you know, understanding the infinite mercy of God's grace actually motivates most grace believers to want to do more to honour God out of sheer thanks and wonder at His incredible love. We do it out of our free will and not because we have to or we will have our salvation taken away, but because we want to knowing our sins are fully paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ, we cannot be condemned because He has washed us clean by His blood sacrifice, are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and we go to heaven on the righteousness of Christ. We are lost without Him and His completed work on Calvary. No one can earn their way to heaven. We are without righteousness and we know it, so our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ to save us. It is all a work of Him and therefore God gets the glory. We are motivated by love knowing we are secure in Christ and that it is His righteousness only that will see us to heaven. You assume we live lives of lasciviousness and are wrong. Love is a far greater motivator than fear as is knowing we have eternal security and have not got hell being dangled underneath of us to scare us. You can never measure up to Christ and to try is a slap in the face of the Lamb of God who willingly laid down His life to pay for all sins of every person. It is finished were His last words. If He did not pay it all then He failed is what you say.

This Lordship Salvation bondage has many believers unsure of their walk with God, AND it causes some to conclude that they are not born again. Rather than lead Christians to a Calvinist certainty, it leads them to an Arminian cynicism. John MacArthur has become a Reformed theologian, but his Lordship Salvation teaching blasts his Reformed theology to Hell. The whole issue is to stay in the Word of God for all our doctrine, and understand that theology is a discipline of men, not God.

people truly holding to a works righteousness aren't believers, they're false brethren, judaisers, mixing law and the cross isn't the gospel, in galatians they were basically lordship salvationist and paul called them false brethren, the lordship people are adding lawkeeping just like in galatians, its not really any different, paul did not call them believers but he said anyone with a different gospel is accursed and christ profits them nothing, they are perverting the gospel.

But to respond to the other part of your reply there is a wave of people trying to find comfort in an unchanged life, one where they've tried for years and continue to struggle with obedience and desires of the flesh and drawings of the world so they eventually give up and look for other theological answers. And low and behold they find it in this wicked antinomian theology that's going to send many to he'll. Its purely unbelief, friend. If you are struggling with obedience seek God! Seek Him with all your heart! Get radical!!!! Set aside a weekend and fast and pray! Go and sell all that you have and pray! Your soul could depend on it!! Now I wasn't necessary talking literally go and sell all that you have, but the problem with this wishy-washy easy believism is people struggle to the point they just don't want to get radical like Jesus preached in the Gospels so they look for another ear scratching option. Don't do it! Seek God! I struggled for years!! Years of struggling in my works, and trying to obey. I get accused of works based salvation but it's not that at all because I know I can never measure up to God's standard. Not by a conceivable fraction. But at the same time I k ow there is a holiness without which no one will see the Lord. So there I was! Catch 22! Which is it? The NT is clear; it's both! You can't do it, but it better get done!! So I cried and cried in prayer and fasting and seeking till the Lord answered. Now I live by power and faith in Christ. A truly changed life. People don't seek God the way Daniel did in 21 day fastings because they look for other comfortable ways to ease their burdens, like this terrible theology of "just relax, it's all good. Don't worry about your salvation because Jesus has saved you. Even though there is no evidence". It's a lie from hell. Wickedness. Don't drink the koolaid. Get off these wicked websites that teach this damnable doctrine!

I have seen the crushing effect that accepting this belief during a ‘good season’ when they’re conquering and getting breakthroughs and doing awesome has when they then go through a season of crisis or failure when they REALLY REALLY need Jesus and now on TOP of the crisis comes the FLIP side of ‘lordship salvation’ with “oh...I’m not producing fruit right now therefore I’m not actually saved nor was I ever truly saved.”

Jesus took up his cross. Was Christ working to please God so that he would not be thrown out of the Godhead? Or, was he suffering to save sinners? Obvious answer. So, taking up the cross means giving our life to be like Jesus, even if he calls us to suffer and die so that sinners can hear the Gospel. Witness thousands of missionaries over the centuries who died trying to give the Gospel to lost sinners of the world.

But lord ship salvation can't just make the gospel what they want it to be, which is what lord ship salvation does. Lordship salvation goes directly against the bible and that why it's funny lordshippers use that passage of scripture saying "not everybody who calls me lord will enter the kingdom of heaven" but only those doing the will of my father which is believe on the son jesus christ alone for salvation. Jesus was warning about false prophets in that passage of scripture and Lordshippers fall in that false prophet category. I mean its plain black and white. Pay attention to what the people had been saying. They were boasting about all the good things they had done in the name of jesus. It didn't say lord didn't we fornicate in your name , lord didn't we steal, cuss and fight in your name. They say lord didn't we do many wonderful works in your name, prophicie in your name, cast out demons in your name... and jesus says depart from me you workers of iniquity. I never knew you. That's what it says.
