Gokul Balram The new Hypercar regulations makes the sport more cost-effective to develop a top-tier racecar for. We’re talking only a few million dollars as compared to many tens of millions of dollars. I think Porsche would come back given the lowered costs.

Gabriel Malandin and Sammy, no. NOT a Boxer engine. We need a “V” configuration. Give it a V-8, V-10 or V-12. Why? To maximize the underbody aero. The car HAS to generate negative lift and it requires venturis underneath the car either side of the vehicle centerline and end behind the car with a diffuser. Designed this way there will be little need for a large, drag-inducing rear wing to generate downforce.

@@co3476 I don't know what they are looking at. It's a Boxter type engine, there is an engine where the stacks are angled. But I don't think Porsche in that day would have made a entirely different engine. Especially since their Boxter engines were very efficient and reliable even more so than today's engines.
