The Porsche diagnostic tool is PIWIS 3, VMware workstation 17 and a Chinese clone of the VAS6154

Hey guys! I take it you didn't get PIWIS in the kit, but something else was delivered? That's not good, but it's okay. Unfortunately I can't help you with that, due to YouTub rules. I can't give download links here. But for the sake of interest I found a virtual machine from the Russians in 10 minutes in a search engine. If you can use PtP in your region, you can download from there. This is probably the easiest way.

@@D-Stealth I got ODIS with mine. I got the wrong one. I downloaded PIWIS, but it says VCI not found. Do I need to run wifi or something else? I followed all the other steps. PIWIS 3 loads on VM, and device is found and connects from the desktop icon, but VCI is not found in the PIWIS. Everything is greyed out. Hmm.

Hi! The virtual machine I had already had the drivers. I didn't have to install the drivers manually. I read that it is the firmware version that matters. PIWIS does not work with any clones. Alternatively, maybe try to find a virtual machine with pre-installed drivers? That would be easier.

I can see that the PIWIS3 software shows that there's no VCI connected but it works anyways. Is that correct?

Hi! I didn't pay attention to the VCI connection pointer. If PIWIS detects the machine and allows to read errors, I think it is just a bug in the program patch.

hi, maybe you can help me out, when i start the VM for the first time it doesnt ask me if I moved or copied it. After starting piwis is unuseable. so I asume it automaticly marks it as copied. can i change this?

Hi! If the virtual machine was already running, the only way would be to erase it and overwrite it from your source again.

I bought the same clone kit on aliexpress. My question is: how did you write the files from the DVD to your flash drive?. did you just copy and paste the udf file from the DVD?.

Hi! In my case I had a virtual machine archive? Is it the same for you? I unzipped the virtual machine (a few files) and copied it to a directory on the SD card. Then I told VMware where to start the virtual machine from.

@@D-Stealth i have downloaded the files you copied onto your sd card (106gb data) but when i run with the VMware, it misses a file tht is needed to run. On the other hand, i dont know what files there are on the dvds that came with the clone device. Is that the drivers for the device or that is piwis as well/?

@@rickyfredericks9694 The Aliexpress seller could have sent both PIWIS and Audi programs, or just plain garbage. If everything went well, you received an archive on disks, which you need to unpack. The file extension of the archive is usually: .rar or .7zip, .zip . After unpacking there will be 5-10 files with extensions: .vmdk .nvram . vmsd .vmx File to be specified by VMvare player with extension .vmx

@@D-Stealth the files on the dvds that came with the clone device is named '' ODIS'' and i am not sure whether is the drivers for the device or the program..Now i'm stuck trying to run the piwis on the vmware. Do you know of any link online to download the piwis software from? i got one on torrent but it seems corrupted. :(

Hi. PIWIS has an English interface. Most of the error descriptions are translated from German into English. But all block coding is in German. At least in my version of the program.

I have the 106GB file by nhanas, but I was referring to the VAS6154 driver instead. Or the driver is not required based on my research online. Some mention just load the PIWIS 3 into VMware and plug in VAS6154 and it is good to go? Like literally we don't need those CD file from seller.

Hi. I don't see what went wrong for you. I was helping a guy rebuild a virtual machine, but he was sending me screen pictures, I could see what was wrong. If you have the same virtual machine, what helped him was this: You have the downloaded original to restore it to the way it was, right? Then move or erase the caches file or directory , and both files with the .lck extension. (the first 3 files in your picture) Move or erase the files where 8700f0e3 is in the name. (2 files) Rename your first directory "D:\PIWIS 3 WIN10 41.500+38.250 VMWARE" to a simpler directory. For example, "D:PIWIS". Re-register the virtual machine in the player.
