Loved seeing your portfolio! Could you elaborate more on why certain designs aren’t tattooable? Is it due to the lack of skin breaks/solid color?
@k3nziej0rdan11 күн бұрын
@@neurodivergenttattoocollector thank you! And yes it’s due to skin breaks. My pieces lean more traditional which uses the rule of threes color, shading, then skin break!
@neurodivergenttattoocollector11 күн бұрын
@ okay that makes a lot of sense! Because I was going to say I’ve seen tattoos done this way, however just because they can be done doesn’t mean it’s always the best idea or that it reflects what style you’re specializing in. How does the rule of threes apply to black and grey traditional tattoos? Would it just be solid black instead of color?

Sketches should be separate from your actual portfolio, you want fully rendered pieces. It’s okay to take inspiration from other artist just put your own twist/style on it to make it your own!

@@k3nziej0rdan have you ever seen the book, TATTOO. 1730s-1970s. @@k3nziej0rdan the book shows up on a google search :D Henk Schiffmacher is a 72yo dutch tattoo artist, the book has some really nice 100+ year old flash in it, its one of those books you could leave on a coffee table and it wouldnt be out of place. i also like how being a decent time scale you can see trends and changes in styles in the tattoo`s. i felt like a glorified unpaid skivvy most of the time, i learnt more by watching, than i got taught.
