I recently turned 50 and have been tattooing since I was 19 and one very unfortunate thing thats happened to the tattoo industry is the Huge Egos the majority of artists now have. Granted I've seen and covered some bad tattoos but I've never told a client "your tattoo sucks" or the person who did the tattoo is a horrible artist. I've always felt that tattooing was supposed to make people feel better and I do have respect for Alot of artists (mostly older generation artists). I'm glad I grew into the business when artists actually used to help each other rather than slam one another

How painful is it to get tattoos over scars? I would love a full anatomical spine down my entire spine and I have had 12 surgeries on my spine; the scar is large low mid back to the sacrum/tailbone.

It’s not so much the pain but how the skin takes the ink. It can blow out, or reject. I had colour tattoos over scars that just spat the ink out, and black over other that took it well (but you can still see the texture). Let your artist see, and be flexible with what is physically possible. Good luck!

Honestly it depends on the scar, I have some really deep thick scarring and when the needle went over them I couldn't feel a thing. If you wanted one on your skin the fact that the skin isn't very thick, it would hurt a considerable amount, I find tattoos closer to bone hurt more regardless of scarring. Or you could be absolutely fine like other people are, just gotta do it and find out, plus there's always numbing cream.

Ok, so Cleens tribal tattoo, is like a bit mix of Melanesian and Polynesian tattoo styles but not fully either style though. Both style do look similar but there are differences in each style. But I can't be the only one that thinks Dave chose 2 bad luck tattoos or did I miss something?

I hate the negativity that is played up between the artists. I'm sure a lot of it is just made-up drama for the show but the fact that they encourage people to talk down about the other artists' tattoos and say how bad they are or that they suck or that their work was nothing special is disgusting. I also hate the fact that they always cut in some nasty comment from the other artists over and over during the show. Can I just watch the tattooing without someone being snarky about how their piece is so much better?
