At one point, you used to be able to make tipped arrows from lingering potion clouds, but unfortunately, that is no longer a feature. If it were, you might have been able to tip infinite arrows in effects from a single potion and a creeper farm.

Hello everyone! Welcome once again to the wonderful world of Zedvancements! I'm reporter Ness, here to bring you all the twists and turns, thrills and spills, and other exciting word pairings! Today Zed attempts to herd cats. Despite a false start involving a smoked salmon, he manages to snag a couple of furry feline friends and sets out to collect all their offerings. After a few nights, there's success! Zed changes gears to yet another advancement, and boy is it a wild ride. After a Livestream circus, Zed is in possession of a couple of charged creepers. The idea is to use the particle effects from an affected creeper to gain the Furious Cocktail advancement. He ropes Cleo in to the explosive attempt, and they cover their noggins, take deep breaths, and stand directly in the splash zone. Do they live? Do they procure the advancement? Does it all go terribly wrong? Find out in the latest episode!

@@SalemsRising As soon as he joined this season, yup. He had Tango built him a portal far out in the Nether and ended up underground with no pickaxe. So he called Tango back, and they did it again. It took another try or two, but Etho finally ended up above ground, and the village he found looked alot like that one.

Nah, splash potions with gunpowder are way older than lingering potions. "Creepers make lingering potion effects" feels like one of those weird things they added for the sake of, like, adventure maps or whatever. Like, it basically never comes up in vanilla, but could be used to creative ends

Hi Zed - got an idea for a Zedvancement called 'Growing Up Together'. Get killed by every kind of tree in the game... plant a sapling, stand on said sapling, and wait for nature to do the rest! Absolutely loving these challenges - awesome content!

in my experience of getting sleeping cat gifts, sometimes if where you are sleeping is above an open space, like the room that is below your bed, the gifts can sometimes glitch through the floor and end up down there instead. just thought that might be whats happening if you arent getting a gift pretty much every night.

I’ve been making an effort to visit other hermits this season and Zed is definitely a hidden gem of a hermit. As they all are, really. I love each of the hermits personalities and how they come together to create this wholesome community

Definitely worth the effort, although with 25 hermits its quite a time investment to watch a bunch at the same time. Normally i recommend watching the recap to help with finding hermits to watch. (And they have an official website with links to all their episodes and channels) PS: if you haven't already Etho is a great watch but his episodes are infrequent.

Purrfect Presents is the first of your Zedvancements that I've ever naturally done before hearing about it here. In my Skyblock world, my throngs of villagers, settled in four different themed buildings, spawned a lot of cats in random locations. Anytime I found one in a cool spot with an appropos coat color, I'd tame and name it (ex. the white cat I found in my sugarcane farm I named Sugarsprint (that was a hard one to tame!)), and then build it a little 3x3x3 diorama with a bed in a building I called the Sunset Cat Palace, because I headed there every sunset to sleep with a cat (rotated through them). I saved the gifts---it by far the easiest way to get rabbit's stuff in that game. So yeah, that advancement brings back memories!

Little mob catching tip: if you push glass into the head of an entity using a piston, they can't pathfind to you. Meaning creepers won't be able to explode and such. You can also use that with mobs traveling inside minecarts by placing a block of glass above the tracks.

Here's one my brother and I came up with. We call it "Cats in the Cradle" The idea goes that Zed needs to get one of every breed of cat in game and set them in cauldrons with either iron bars or end rods above them to look like spoons, in a room with a enderman (in a boat or minecart) in the center and a jukebox that can play the cat music disc on command Why all of this? Here is a Zedvancement Idea: Using dispensers with lava buckets (and either underwater or with water buckets), as fast as you can basically, you need to completely create a new nether portal, and go in it. You can use dispensers with flint and steel too BTW. It could be called "The Nether Getaway" but you can choose any name you want. Zed, your cat wasn't drowning when it was splashing in the water. That just happens when something jumps up and down in water. However, your cat WILL drown if you make it sit in water (I think a full block, it might be okay on a slab). I learned this the hard way... Anyway, the waterways in your base are safe because the water's not high enough.

For the purrfect gift zedvancement trophy, you could do a cat head poking out of the trophy holding 1 of the possible gift items like there's a tiny cat in the trophy poking its head out giving you a gift. The background for the trophies little alcove could be dark blue/black with skulk at the top to represent a night sky. As for the potion zedvancment, maybe a creeper head with some potions "flying" out of the trophy which would indicate the creeper exploding to give the potion effects. The background could have a button that you could press that drops a piece of tnt into water which prevents damage to the area and when the tnt explodes a splash potion is fired out of a dispenser.

Here’s the idea behind it: In minecraft, there are a bunch of structures you can find! Unfortunately, not all are fully complete, or have degraded over time! This Zedvancement would be granted to you if you first find each of these incomplete structures, and second, give them a makeover! Make it as it they were never abandoned in the first place! Here are the structures that I personally think count, but feel free to add or remove some if you think otherwise! - Ancient City (This is a big task, so you might want some help with it?) - Abandoned Mineshaft (Rails are missing! This is hardly a functioning mineshaft!) - Stronghold - Jungle Temple (it seems overgrown) - Abandoned Village (They sometimes spawn with cobwebs - find and repopulate it too for bonus points!) - Ruined Portal - Ocean Ruins (Drowned seem to live here, but don’t keep very good care of the area) - Shipwreck - Bastion Remnant (poor piglins!) - Fossil (Sometimes found underground - you could also excavate and bring it to the surface! Or make this into a bonus Zedvancement of archeology, where you have to find all 4 overworld Skulls, 4 Overworld Spines, and 14 Nether fossils - maybe even make a museum from them?) Finally, here are some structures that aren’t degraded, but still could use some renovation if you so choose: - Desert Pyramid - Igloo (Make sure to save the villagers in the basement!) A fun Zedvancement could be “Zed head hunter” get a Zed head killed by every hermit WITHOUT asking them to kill you.
