In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I love everything this beautiful, young woman stands for. So glad she didn't listen when at the age of 13 she was rejected for among other things, having the wrong body type.

She is a good speaker who speaks from her heart. She has the beauty, intelligence, dedication, and talent that inspires us to become better persons. UnderArmour knows a winner when they see one. No wonder UnderArmour is such a successful company.

Love you Misty! You are my ideal ballerina - athletic, lithe and strong. BUT - Baryshnikov will always be relevant - as will you! Ballet, like classical music, will never die. AND I agree with you completely -- why take offense at portraying a role? It's just that - a role.

Another exemple that an USamerican does not know much about the other parts of the world. She is not to blame for this, but the USamerican educational system. When does it "produce" world knowing citizens?

Disagree with her about that ballet lack of diversity. China alone has quite few major world class ballet companies. S.Korea, japan, Cuba, goes on and one all multi ethnicity and programs. There are quite few black dancers seen in every major world class ballet companies. I think she's overdone the African part. All that said, she's a very articulated and intelligent woman beside being one of the best ballet dancer. Few dancers are both dance very well and also articulate as she is.

@jacobfulcher1083

Well maybe at that time she was speaking she didn't really know about China, Japan, Cuba etc. and that says that she is doesn't know about these so they must not as diverse enough for her to notice the diversity or maybe it's not as diverse as she feels it should be. Perhaps she would like over a third of the population of classical ballet dansuers to be of African decent????
