@JoshCantu please don’t worry yourself about refunding money. We gave it to you for your dog. Use it for her in whatever way she needs. It’s probably going to be quite a recovery for her. A lot of different expenses besides therapy will come up that you didn’t even think about. Just an example, you might not be able to do a gig or something because of caring for her therefore causing you guys a loss of income at that moment. The list could go on and on. The point, please don’t worry yourselves with the money issue. You guys don’t need any more stress. Just concentrate on your pup. 💞 (All my opinion, but I would think most everyone feels the same.)

Just went thru this back in November with my 13 yr old cat 🐈‍⬛ princess she was fine from one day to the next & had to rush her to the ER ended up getting emergency surgery & had to pay $2,759

@@melm5253 I think the vet bill or most of it was paid by donations at the vet when people called the vet. He should have the other money that was donated to hopefully pay for therapy or follow up.

Josh, one of the things you addressed was the fact that you can come to your YT community and ask for help and many of us don't have that option. You don't feel your any different than anyone else. The difference is the size of your community compared to ours and that your are a loved content creator. Many of us choose to have other careers which may limit our ability to raise money but we all still have our own communities to turn to of family and friends. Don't feel bad for turning to us in your time of need. We are your community and we're here for you because we care about you and your family. I pray for Sequoia's healing journey. ❤

I was in shock. It brought back memories of my dog. My heart hurt along with yours. I am so thankful for the response of your KZbin family in such a short amount of time. Nick's grandmother was up front and center as soon as Nick told her. Thank you, Nick, and more so, thank you Nick's grandmother. The donations can pay her back and any leftover will cover most of her medical expenses when she comes home. COMES HOME!!! What a great sound that is. We all love you and your family. You give us such joy, entertainment and knowledge with your videos. I love the civil war hunts. It is no wonder the donations came in like a flood of love. I knew she would be alright. I was in a similar situation not that long the vet kept telling me how much I needed for the surgery I had and I got that money than they needed more money, I got that money and then all the sudden they needed more money smh.... My sister then posted the situation on her Facebook and a friend of hers said call this vet that she goes to so I did tell the vet what the other vet diagnosed her with had X-rays and all the information with me. That veterinarian said bring your dog in I will do the surgery on my lunch.. and I ended up only needing half of what I needed at the other vet. She almost died, and the other veterinarian did not seem to care they were just worried about money.

@@daby8399 I'm sorry but emergency vets are HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! Here in the south its right at $600 just to walk thru the door. They take advantage of your desperation and its sickening to me! Should they be compensated for after hours and holidays...of course, but not at quadruple the price!

I know how you two has gone through. My little "🌭" Weiner dog named "Buddy" broke his spine just fluffy his blanket. His whole back half a few years left but no more than 5 and with more pain. So the only decision I made was to say goodbye. The cost to have surgery was over $3000. If it was to work at any part because the break was almost at the highest point. You guys love that dog 🐶 and bay him all you can 🥰

I donated to Sequoia because I admire and respect you and your family. Sequoia is going to need treatment for quite some time so she will be needing those excess funds. There are always emergencies for families and animals in crisis, and there is frustration that you can't help them all. But we chose to donate our money to YOU. Go slow on making decisions about the donations. You are very likely to need all the funds for Sequoia's care.

I agree with everyone that’s telling you to keep the money. It’s been given to you to care for your dog no matter when or how it is used. It’s our choice to donate to whom we want. You have given us so much with your vlogs so it’s only fair we can give something back to you. You can’t please all of the people all of the time so don’t try. The outpouring of support has been amazing heartwarming and truly selfless giving. That must be encouraging in itself. My dog had a stroke. It was 6 months of helping him but he got better. I remember having to fork over the entire amt too. The first 6 wks were the toughest. Prayers for healing.

Awww this update brought a smile to my face. Seeing Chelsea’s tears and your stress yesterday was hard. So glad to see she is home. Yes it’s a long road to recovery but now it can start. Also, in regards to the funds, you have no idea how much physio or any of the treatment is going to cost, so just take it day by day and don’t feel the pressure to do something with it because you got more than initially needed. These expenses change all the time. Put the money into an account for Sequoia and have it there in case you need it. It’s less stress to have to worry about it. You have almost 90,000 followers. 10 grand is not a lot in the scheme of thing with people donating a few dollars here and there for an amazing family. And if she doesn’t need it, then you can look into other option, but just take it day by day and take the pressure off to do something with it. Sending love and light and looking forward to seeing her recovery.

I agree no rush to make snap decisions about the funds. Keep them separate from other money and make it possible for an outside party to oversight use for all the dog physical therapy. I've also been a watcher of dog rescue channels so I can appreciate the road ahead. It is expensive to treat any such condition, thankfully it is possible for some recovery or for dogs to still live a beloved family home life. I hope that Sequoyah improves quickly.!!!! You need the 7k believe me, wait until you start puppy rehab, and continue to pay for the RX. Please don’t feel like you need to get rid of the donation so quickly, wait until you at least see how much PT is going to cost and medicine. This is not advice, just my opinion because your family is awesome!

@@JoshCantu Until Sequoia regains mobility (praying that she does), you should reach out to Doggon' Wheels and have a custom set of doggie wheels made for her. If it comes to the point where she doesn't need it, you can always donate that "chair" to another pet owner that cannot afford one. Another option instead of the sling to lift Sequoia's hindquarters is a Help 'Em Up harness. A custom made body halter with 2 strategically placed handles to help lift up her front and hindquarters, stabilize, and assist with her walking by you or Chelsea holding the needed handle. I've used both companies in the past for my dogs.... Doggon' Wheels for my Jack Russell (degenerative vertebrae disease) and Help 'Em Up harness for my English Mastiff (muscular neuropathy). Both were truly lifesavers in a time of need.

@@JoshCantu You could always put this extra in an emergency fund for the family. You never know who/what else may need emergency care that you don't have the money for. Years ago I got a prepay credit card in case I needed to help my dad or get to him in an emergency. I never had to use that money but it helped to have that credit to build the credit I have now.

My mastiff was 10 when she lost the ability to walk. The vet tried acupuncture. I can not tell you how amazed I was by how helpful it was in her recovery. She also really liked it. It was amazing you should look into it

I totally understand what you’re going thru. Four months ago my dog was quilled by a porcupine. She needed two major surgeries to remove lung lobes. I maxed out my credit cards to pay for all the tests and surgeries ($20,000 total) . Then I made a GoFundMe to try and get help, I asked everyone I could think of to share it, I created an Instagram page for her but still we are deep in debt. I would do it all again tho because she is my life. I hope your dog has a speedy recovery!!

Please refrain from using boxed broth in the future if at all possible. The sodium/salt is astronomical in there! Use bone in chicken and water with turmeric. Have made our dog food by hand for years this is simply a helpful and kind hearted note sent with much love and NO JUDGMENT❤️‍🔥 I love that you love her so much

My 5 year old Maltese passed away on Jan 7. He wasn’t feeling himself the night before. By 9:30am he tookhis last breath with me cuddling him.. the shock..I didn’t have a chance to save him .. He hurt his back leg on Christmas day and it's not healing well so we're looking at orthopedic specialists and a possible surgery in his future. Back about to late 70's. There was one veterinarian in that city. I walked there after school and asked for an after school job. No problem. One day my mom's bird dog was struggling to have a litter of puppies. I said to mom... Take her to Dr. H. he's awesome!! Mom put Lady in the back seat and off we went to the vet office. Mom had not met Dr. H yet. He fixed her right up!! Healthy litter of pups. Here's the kicker!!♡ One week later mom was getting all prettied up. She said..."Guess who I am going to supper with?" Dr.H!!! ONE MONTH later they were married!!! ♡♡ 50 + years they were married. All our critters have always been family!! ♡♡♡

Thank you, for thinking of that Josh. My very healthy German Shepherd (Service Dog)went to have her teeth cleaned by Banfield Pet Hospital. They damaged her trachea. She couldn’t eat or drink normally again. We ran up all of our credit cards, taking her to different specialist and trying different medical treatments. In the end, we watched her suffer for 7 months before she passed. It has been 2 years and I still cry over her. She was everything to us! I hope and pray for your family to get through this. ❤

Please get the therapy as soon as possible. As a person in the medical field therapy immediately after a stroke is the utmost important. Do not give up. Yes the therapy is very expensive. My daughter’s cat was real sick one night. We didn’t have the money to take him to the emergency room. The vet wanted hundreds of dollars up front before they would even see him. My daughter held Sabin all night until he passed away. It was terrible. I’m so happy you thought of the KZbin family to help Sequoia get through this. This was literally me last week with my dog. They wanted multiple thousands of dollars. We had to bring our dog home and follow up with our regular vet. Still in the end we spent over a grand. It’s hard on the working class. We love our dogs, but we also have to feed our kids and when emergencies happen you’re left to choose. That’s what I had to do last week. My heart goes out to everyone who has these same struggles as you and I. Praying for her to make a full recovery.

I cried over this ! Brought back memories of my little dog that had the same thing happen to her. Thankfully I went to my little country vet with her. He knew my husband and I and let us make payments to him. Mattie was much easier to handle because she was small. Easy to express her bladder and move her. My husband eventually built her a doggie wheel chair. She loved that thing ! That was years ago and she crossed the rainbow Bridge. Welcome home sequoia❤ prays goes out to a full recovery for sequoia.🙏 I personally would like to thank all the community for helping josh when in need. I’m proud to be a part of this wonderful community that josh has. It’s so wonderful to know that there are indeed good people in this world we live in. I was not one that donated for I didn’t watch the video until all the funds necessary were raised. However, it brought sadness and joy to my heart. Sadness for sequoia and what josh and Chelsea were going through. The joy was what the community gave without hesitation (34 mins) to help a friend in need. Brought back memories of what I went thru when my 2 year old blue French dog, Georgia, got hit by a car. She lost control of her bladder and bowels. Over time (being 60 years old at the time) I wasn’t able to care for her needs. I did end up surrendering her, as josh mentioned in the video as an opposition. It was a tough decision but don’t regret it at all. Georgia was adopted and now living on a farm with other dogs. I’am grateful to the adopters as they give me updates and pictures of Georgia. Everyone has to do what is best for what/who they love in their life’s. I’m so grateful that josh was able to humble himself and ask his community for help, to take care of his loved one the best that he knew how. Many many thanks to you community for giving , so sequoia could/ can get the best care, now and for the future. Thank you josh for taking us all, with you, on this journey. It’s still a long journey ahead for you and sequoia and I’m pleased to let you know I’m looking forward to the journey. She still have a lot of life in her, she will adjust better than you. Animals don't care if they handicap just that are happy and make you happy, she carried on. Good luck keep loving her.

So glad to hear Sequoia is doing better. This same spinal stroke happened to my little Havanese poodle mix. After the surgery and long months of therapy she made an almost 100% recovery. So am praying 🙏🏼 for the same for Sequoia. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Watching this brought tears to my eyes. Poor Sequoia 🥺. I can’t imagine the heartache this brought you. The love and care for your dogs was written large in your faces yesterday. Vets are so expensive and thank you for raising the issue of the many who cannot afford to pay. Many animals get thrown out when ill and some end up in animal shelters where they will get treatment. I hope the community will support local animal rescue shelters and organisations

Josh, you did the right thing for your dog and never question it. Sometimes we just have to ask for help, something most of us hate doing. I had to borrow 2 thousand from family members to have one of my little chihuahua’s eyes removed. She was an older dog, so I struggled if I should even borrow the money. 4 months later, her other eye went bad and needed to be removed too. I couldn’t ask for money help again so I had to choose putting her down. But she was a little old lady, so I was ok with that. Your dog is still a baby and you absolutely did the right thing.
