I'm American and he is right about pronunciation of Sanskrit mantras. I studied Sanskrit for over a year before I could properly use a manta. It takes a good ear too of course to gauge sounds. But most americans are not very deep with anything besides eating and drinking, facebook, etc. Most here follow trends then drop them. If you want to know Gayatri please listen to Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya ji, no one can explain better than him on Gayatri. He has done 24 Mahapurshcharan for 24 years, each year 24 lakh mantra, he was on Jau Roti and Chaach, which does not constitute Salt, Sugar etc.

@@alanagavin466 Mantras are basically sounds that attract certain energies . Many of these mantras contains sounds that donot have any specific meaning but reciting those words in a certain tone with correct pronunciation can lead you to the object you are looking for. By wrongly reciting those words you may attract energies that are not conducive for you. Think of mantras as radio frequencies . If you tune into the right frequency you get the desired channel you are looking for else no.

I don't think what Satguru said about Gayatri mantr is correct. No one can be physically harmed - like losing your voice - by reciting Gayatri mantr, how-so-ever badly the pronunciation may be. The lady was distressed for some other reason. Satguru eased her mind.

All verbs and pronouns are in plural form, meaning the prayer is for all mankind. This makes it the most powerful (full of shakti) mantr. It's not an easy mantr to recite as it's full of symbolism and requires a certain attitude on the part of the worshipper. Good luck.

@@sayakhatui2572 brother I am Brahmin( I meant born in brahmin family) and I say it's not at all caste based. You can chant Gayatri but but only after taking initiation from a guru. We Brahmins take it from father in presence of family guru. That is important and it has nothing to do with which caste u have born. Caste is man made. Mantras are from universe

I don't think what Satguru said about Gayatri mantr is correct. No one can be physically harmed - like losing your voice - by reciting Gayatri mantr, how-so-ever badly the pronunciation may be. The lady was distressed for some other reason. Satguru eased her mind.
