The day Celine Dion covered this song, my great love died in a car accident at the hands of my best friend who was drunk. I couldn't forgive him so he took his own life so I always cry when I hear this song. Once because I miss my love, the second time because I couldn't forgive my best friend. It's my fault he took his own life. This song connects everything.😢😢

I’m so sorry that you feel the weight of this. I’m sure your growth has helped so many people find forgiveness and in doing so it honors them both. It’s important to learn , as you did , from our decisions but just as important to know that how people handle the gravity of weight is not your decision. I’m not sure what you wished for in those moments but I don’t imagine it was for that to happen either and I’m sure it felt to your friend the only way to stop the compounded pain he was feeling… but not everyone chooses to end pain in that way… just as you haven’t . This time your job is to forgive yourself…. You dealt with pain thw best you knew how until you found new tools. Feel welcome and empowered to use those tools of love and forgiveness now on yourself. They both loved you so much and so many people do
