another great combo is for the skaven, the ratling guns apply suppressed and if you use the spell from the lore of plague to imbue them with poison, you can add it on top and really slow the enemy down , while dishing out damage (and it can work on multiple targets depending on how many ratling guns you have)

I discovered the legendary rattling poison combo when I first invaded Ulthuan in twh2 and boy. boy oh boy. it's really something when you shut down a cav charge with it

Wood elves have access to this very cool ability that roots a place in target AND increases all ranged damage they receive by 15-25% or so. Paired with the very amazing wood elf archers it's truly hilarious to see large single entities die from a few volleys.

chances are, all percentage modifiers are multipliciative instead of addative. Instead of stacking slows being 60+40=100, its added progressively. First the 60% slow removes 60 speed from the 100 speed unit, leaving them with 40. Then the 40% is applied to the new value of 40. This becomes 24 speed. So as you add more percentage modifiers, you get less and less value out of them. There would technically be no cap to how low you can go, but like Zeno's paradox, you can never reach 0.

I do this a lot with Kairos' eye ability to keep those pesky cathayan dragons at bay. Its cd is lower than the effect timer so you can stop them under warp fire for days

I remember back in the Warhammer 1 days I got my first MP victory almost exactly as shown. Pinned Mannfred with my light wizard and used handgunners to kill him before his units were even close to reaching my front lines. Main difference is that for artillery I had rocket batteries that I used against his chaf.

i think the speed reduction doesnt stack flat. Stacking percentages is usually calculated by multiplying the inverse: .7*.55*.4 = .154 -> meaning 84.6% slow

You can't tell in total war, they do illegal things all the time. Some lines of code literally say "An angel does something here" and return a random number. Three of their programmers have been sectioned due to inhaling too much salvia divinorum before a marathon systems revamp. Chaos reigns

Most % bonuses in total war are additive, becaus they're handled as simple integers before actually being fed into the bit of code that treats them as a percentage. Recruit cost and upkeep are the most apparent of these, with some combinations of effects being able to stack to 100% reduction for a limited time. Resistances are the same, with different sources of e.g. physical resist combining by simple addition i.e. +10% physical resist on daemons with a base 20% physical resist gives them 30% total physical resist, not 28% or 22%

I suspect in this case that the lord already had bonuses to his speed (and charging also gives a bonus, I think) so if you're at 150% speed and take -130% speed, you're still at 20% speed.

Maybe the speed reduction %es don't add up, but the first reduction of -50% reduces speed to 50%, then the next -50% to 25%, and the next -50% to 12,5%?

Hey peeps. Here's some tips for maximizing this advantage specifically. 1. Play as Gelt 2. Have a light wizard or two 3. Have cannons and rocket batteries 4. 2 handguns units or more if you like. You use the wizards one to stop large units and heroes and one to force a blob and stop large numbers of regular infantry. You use Gelt to use spells on enemies and upgrade all his passive boosts to artillery units in skill tree. Now you have very accurate artillery and gunners to fire at their respective targets. Handgunners and cannons on large or single entity large units and heroes, and rocket storm batteries and Gelt for large clumps of enemies. I say 2 light wizards because even if their targets are all just blobs or large, you can alternate them for double the length of Net spell

I hate it when the A.I. does that when I try to bait out the ammo with my lord and they are actually smart enough to slow me down to like 90% or so. This is frustrating but also very impressive at the same time.

In Campaign dwarves have a lot of other sources of slow espesically from the forge, they can get get frostbite from a weapon which also gives a AoE slow both are 30% slows, there is a character rune that gives dazed on attack which gives a 25% slow on hit, finally I know of a banner rune that gives a AoE 10% slow on a unit among other things

Essential vs the vampire counts. Ghorst had a fully levelled flying strigoi and it took 8 exhalted pink horrors plus 2 exhalted flamers to take him down, and even then only just. Those things are beasts now

I use this tactic a lot in my Imrik campaign, when you are fighting Grimgor and don’t have Imrik on the field; after defeated the whole greenskin army but Grimgor is unbreakable so he will still be there and you don’t want to throw anything is melee attack on him unless you want it to melt in 3sec, so you have to net him/slow him and do this for like 5mins to kill him…

need one of these vids for the buff/debuffs that people often sleep on. Always with the nukes and vortexes but almost never using the melee attack/defence buff/debuffs some lores get ridiculous buffs for these and can let your units absolutely chew through the enemy front line for 20-30 seconds, often more damage than just hurling damage spells just because you can T_T

probably not enough time, it was a situation where both units charged each other, kind of baiting them in having them run around would take too long and take away your charge bonus if you cant place yourself in time, having them charge right into them does a lot more immediate, given how they are not expensive and basically take away half hp from one if not the strongest vampire unit
