Yes! We have the power of life or death in our words! We reap a harvest of our words. We must speak life to produce a harvest of life! Over our physical bodies and of others. And the Holy Spirit told me weeks ago: "don't speak someone's past over their future". When we continue to speak about a person's past failures about them or even to them, this will produce the same into their future. We must "call those things that are not as though they are" as God's word says, to produce a harvest of what God wants for a person. LIFE!! We must be in agreement with God and His word concerning everyone and everything, to see a change for the good.

Thank you Dutch .. it’s been so long now since I began praying and declaring the Word of God over people and situations, (I’m 76) I can’t recall for certainty how it came about. But that’s not terribly important. What is though, that because of that, I have encouraged many others to pray and declare Gods Word as it is a living word, it is alive and so very powerful and accomplishes what God sends it to do. I remember that both Isaiah and Jeremiah’s mouths were touched by God to speak the words He gave them. The words of our mouths are so important .. we all need (self included) to remember that ‘out of the heart, the mouth speaks’ .. this requires a clean heart.

We so often think that after our confession/profession that the mountain will instantly move. I suspect rather that, as you were saying, our words “hammer” at the mountain. There are times when things DO move immediately, but in His Wisdom God gives the challenge for us to develop stamina and persistence. I am reminded of when I questioned delays in answers. He said, “Your words are like hammer-blows chipping away at the obstacles.” Thank you for this reminder! God’s Word is a weapon, but it serves little purpose to me if I don’t “pick it up” and USE it!!
