If that's true then I wouldn't be surprised if Lord Drakkon became the inspiration for Ohma Zi-O. Given they share similarities with being evil rulers of an alternate future, posses the powers of all rangers/riders, they're most powerful forms are black and gold with red eyes, and they can rewrite the universe with their immense power.

Ya know how Lord Drakkon made a perfect world where he was the hero everyone loved? It showed some panels with him fighting giant spirit animals. Those were the various Ranger powers still in his reality, fighting back, but they were also his doubts. The more the fantasy fell apart, the stronger the animals got. His own sense of inadequacy was unravelling everything, just like it always had and always would.

The couldn’t do this as a full length live action, sadly due to the age of actors. But get the team behind the D.C. animated films on this for 2 movies and use the original casts. Now the franchise is with has ro it could be interesting for separate tie ins.

@@fightingfalcon777 They have a lot of control. Power Rangers is an international brand. A lot of nations just get subtitled Sentai, but with Power Rangers branding. I forget where it was, but Gokaiger aired as "Power Rangers Captain Force".

It actually almost was! There were indeed plans to make a live-action series set in the Coinless world due to how well-received the live-action promo was! Kyle even had an outline ready to go but then Hasbro bought the franchise and as is the nature of franchise acquisitions, anything that wasn't currently in the can got canceled and this was one of them.

It will be cool to have prequel mini series of the gokaiger series were all the previous team needed to fight the invasion army and you get to see their zord being destroyed, old team reunited, dead rangers coming back from the dead, rangers team up that many wated and end it up were the movie gokaiger vs goseiger begin. Or power taisen movie that involves remnants of previous villains factions working together to finally take out the rangers and this will cause rangers to reunite once again.

I admit this REALLY energized my love for the franchise to the point I not only hunted down the individual issues but also bought the collector's edition hardcover of the event. It really felt like a love letter to fans who have been with the franchise and knew every team and I think they even snuck in some Sentai nods but I'm not sure. Another thing you didn't mention is this event also got it's own expansion of the same name for the tabletop game Heroes Of The Grid including the Hyperforce team, Jen from Time Force, and Lauren from Super Samurai.

Another point to know is when they reform the universe they lose their memories about it. That's why this event is never brought up in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV episodes.

Mmpr in the tv take place in the time it comes out, while the comic takes place in morden time in another universe if you are saying the main power rangers universe, then yes the event is canon because it happened and but no one remembers like you said. Also since there has been a cross over that Tommy hsd the master morpher and dr k showing up in beast morpher and mentioning dino charge that take place in another universe, we could possibly see something like shatter grid happens if we the fan ask it but who knows

You can see them in the line up at 10:43 ahead of Ninja Storm and you can see their megazord in one of the fight panels. Star Wars tried something like this with 'Shadows Of The Empire, which had media on every level except an animated piece or a new film. It was kind of like Episode 5-1/2, but it was hamstrung a bit by no actor involvement that I know of, being locked into set canon events (they attempted a rescue of Han from Boba Fett before he was delivered to Jabba - and just missed), and tried to have each media piece come from a different POV on the events which seemed cool, but meant you had to buy them all to get the full picture. The hero, Dash Rendar, was referred to as a Carbonite-Copy of Han, though his ship, The Outrider, was cool. It actually makes a cameo in the 1997 re-release of ANH. But I have to see Shattered Grid as the real morphin deal for this sort of thing.

One small correction. Saba didn't try to bore a hole in Drakkons head to 'save the Rangers from having to make the tough choice of killing him', he knew that they wouldn't do it, and *Drakkon needed to die*.

I ask this cause from that panel with the Samurai Rangers when they were attacked, I didn’t see Jayden there so it seems like it was at the point of Super Samurai where Jayden left after Lauren showed up, so did we ever figure out if Jayden was able to stay out of the fight, if Drakkon’s forces found him and took him out, or if Jayden joined the fight after learning what happened to his team?
