was the G5 ppc workstation meant to be for compiling software for the WiiU by any chance as the WiiU uses the same architecturer? retrofitting the G5 with a modern AIO watercooling solution would likely be quite easy. and if you didnt want to go with liquid at all (because water and pooter bad) you could shove a noctua thing in there. i have done some looking and the NH-U9 TR4-SP3 should fit as it is 92mm wide and they should be powerful enough to keep those beasts under control, and quiet!

Not for the Wii U specifically. Though using it as a PPC compile host is pretty useful as opposed to cross-compiling Moving to air cooling is tempting, though there's a lot of fiddling around with feeding the LCS "fake" data to prevent it from shutting down unexpectedly

For your audio issues have you looked into recapping the sound cards? It’s not that difficult , you just need a soldering station

I've got rather shaky hands which makes me totally useless with a soldering iron. I need to bug a friend to recap them for me one of these days

Nice video! Maybe better G5 Dual 2,3 Ghz rather that Quad liquid nightmare?

A dual 2.7 would be fun, but that's nowhere near as entertaining for viewers!

I swear, solar flares must be attracted to you or something because you seem to have the worst luck with computer hardware. Everything I have bought works flawlessly, except 1 DOA FX 5600 graphics card. AFAIK, modern computer liquid coolers are filled with a solution not unlike engine coolant. I think the only difference they have extra corrosion inhibitors to stretch the coolant's life.
