I was made fun of a lot when I was young, because I liked The Powerpuff Girls (despite being a boy) quite a bit. Fast-forward to earlier this year, when I found out the show was on Netflix. I binge-watched it faster than any other show in my life. It was enough to prove to me, even at the age of 24, a male can still enjoy the series. I wish we had more like it.

Back in the day, they never even sold the Bubbles version in stores. It is still difficult to find, and while there were lps and footage of Blossom and Buttercup’s game, there were only a couple of videos of the first level in Bubble’s game. Having *finally* seeing snippets of Bubble’s game, particularly the Kindergarden’s boss softlock, and museum’s glitch and boss fight, I can see why the Bubble’s game was not on store shelves back then. I’m glad to have seen some of it though.

I watched a walkthrough, and for the Mime battle, there's a pathway in the ceiling. You're supposed to take it, then fly through it until you loop around behind Mime, then punch him.

I'm surprised you didn't mentioned the sound design. I really hated that as a kid, in particular when the girls get hit.

The video is already 25 minutes long, but that was one of the things that's pretty terrible that I didn't have time to mention. The sound effects are bizarrely quiet, you can only hear most of them if you have the music turned off, and the music is all kind of around the same pitch and gets pretty irritating. Theres like, maybe one decent song in the whole game. And I usually love the GameBoy Color sound engine.

The original PPG Gameboy color games were indeed bad, but it seems like nobody ever talks about the Gameboy Advance game "Him and Seek." It's an action RPG and it is truly a phenomenal game. It captures the show's essence perfectly, and has fun gameplay to boot.

Having programmed game AI, it is really hard to write good attack code that neither pathetically misses nor always hits. As you mentioned about budget and who is behind it, it makes sense that its pretty terribly written.

16:16 hit home with me xD I've only ever played and owned the Bubbles version (they were selling just that one when my local Blockbuster was closing) I had no idea all 3 were supposed to be played together. Makes sense though, keeping with the theme of the 3 girls being together from the show. And going back to that sand castle part in the Bubbles game; yes I did that the first time, I got 'locked out' from the castle because I didn't notice the dog the first time around - These games were ridiculous.

One neat glitch in these games works like this. Play as the Mayor, go to a stage with the cyclops tentical giant. Let it grab you. I guess there isn't a sprite for when the Mayor is grabbed, because it cause the game to glitch unlocking everything, though you can play the extras stages this way because they're glitched.

I'm not sure honestly. Early copies of the games have save batteries, so there's much more incentive to actually 100% it. Later copies had the batteries removed to cut costs and default to a password system, which kills the fun of collecting everything. The ones I could find all had the batteries removed, so I never bothered trying.

I did find a way to beat the GGG in the last level. 1. Use the Chemical X on Snake and punch him til he's out. Punch Grubber without the X, and go up before he licks or spits. 2. Use the Hotlines on Lil. Arturo which will knock him out. And use the X on Billy, to freeze him and punch him. But stay out his way, because he can still kill you. 3. I just go crazy with the X and hotlines for Ace. But watch out for his baseball bat and ball, that will of course hurt.
