I used it, since enemies with high defense that take one point of damage from your attacks can still be melted since burn effects work every few ticks rather than half a second. It was a good wayt o get rid of them till i got a proper weapon

I mean you could do that. Or you could wear meteor armor and spam the space gun for no mana cost. When you manage to get a grey zapinator, the armor also makes it free to shoot. Edit: ah, you covered it. Though if you up the crit chance the grey zap can crit for a thousand damage. I killed the wall even with the low shooting speed.

So far, my legendary mode pre-hardmode mage experience so far has been: - Mine platinum - Farm diamond trees - Make diamond staff - Farm demons - Get the scythe - Make armor out of the meteor that just fell - Fail to kill skeletron (x25933) - Make an herb farm and several fishing areas - Kill skeletron - Get magic missile to deal with smaller enemies - Make a regular world, progress further, get clentaminator - Purify original world - Lie in wait for the next sleepover with the boys so we can defeat the wall

I remember how hard this game was playing summoner. Only got through moon lord with a minecart cheese. Then I decided to try mage after coming back after a long break, only after I was literally unable to kill wall of flesh on expert. The once impossible expert mode became as fun as classic, with more loot. Pretty sure I killed moon lord one time with only an iron skin and endurance potion.

Wand of Sparking has saved me on plenty of occasions when I was up against a group of enemies on an early night. Piercing projectiles that cause burning. It's not your primary weapon, it's your sidearm.

btw, best mage set prehardmode i found is not jungle armor, or meteor armor. Try this: Tim's hat (extra minion on celebration and get fixed boy) Mystic rrobe from traveling merchant Jungle pants Reforge all accesories into 4% crit chance With food and potions you can get 70% crit chance for your legendary weapon on top of extra damage

my mastermode run, which was a mixed build where I changed out for different classes to experience as much as possible, was ironically my first time ever playing in hardmode. Before that I'd only bothered to play till beating WoF once and after that I didn't play into hardmode and abandoned the world. That being said, I did use the wand of sparking to get extra flame dps at some instances, like when I was trapped in a box 5 minutes in trying to kill an eater of worlds for 10 minutes through a hole in the wall, only being able to hit it through the hole using the wand and waiting for mana to regen to keep using it. Good times.

Zapinator has the same effect that the space gun has With meteorite armor, meaning it costs 0 mana to fire With the set bonus of meteorite armor :D. Also misses out on waterbolt
