I know it may look a little silly but I do really enjoy these kinds of movies. They take you through all the emotions and they have a nostalgic feel to them. I’m here for it.

Yikes, why would we watch a movie about kids deep in their trauma of assuming they are responsible for their parents
@cassfaceful7 ай бұрын
Because it's a real issue, and not every family handles that trauma the "right way." I won't be watching this, but it's not a bad thing to have movies with a positive message about common traumas. I think they tend to have more positive effects than negative.

The fact that the kids are the ones mature enough to keep trying to keep their family together, blows my mind. Nowadays parents are just too lazy to do their best for their marriages, kids are suffering the consequences of the bad choices their parents make. I know that couples split and kids have to move on but we cannot normalize divorce.
@shougokawada84917 ай бұрын
Yes, we can. Marriage is not a prison and everyone should be able to get out of it if it doesn't work anymore. And no, children in the story are not mature, they are just selfish. Mature behaviour would be to accept their parents' decision.

Life is way too short to stay in a miserable marriage. People like you want to force this idea on the kids and they grow up thinking they have to just « suck it up ». THAT ‘s what creates trauma. Two happy divorced parents is better that two miserable married ones just for the sake of « keeping the family together ».

I personally probably would have preferred my parents getting divorced. Blended families are messy & have their own complications, but I for sure did not benefit from seeing my mother continually enduring emotional abuse.
