The Presets - 'Feel Alone / Girl and the Sea' (live for Like A Version)

The Presets bring together 2018's 'Feel Alone' with 2004's 'Girl and the Sea' in triple j's Like A Version studio. Like A Version is a segment on Australian radio station triple j. Every week a musician or band comes into the studio to play one of their own songs and cover a song they love.

One of my favorite things about Hi Viz is it feels like they've gone back to their roots and then brought it all into the future, with everything they've learned, and their evolving styles. It's just The Presets through and through - and I can't think of a better way to underscore that then to pair these two songs. The orgasmic transition is a hallmark of their performances but even beyond that, the relentless beat of "Feel Alone" over the "Girl and the Sea" melody just shows what happens when you meld the old and the new. It's a testament to both. Brilliant.
