Same way I discovered the family, Appalachian word quiz. 'Gom' sounds similar to what I have said using the word 'gum' as in something was all gummed up. Enjoy so many of the vids, and this one. 'No count' I have heard 'no account.' I live in the northernmos t county of the Appalachians, in NYS (currently).

I live in Catawba County NC but come from Scottish and German background in Sylva, Jackson County, NC. That was on my grandma’s side, Buchanan. On Pop’s side from Scottish and German than landed in Pennsylvania and came to NC. Our family and many Scots came her during the Shakespeare/Chaucer period and brought the dialect with them. These words came from there. “No count” comes from “ no account “ meaning there is no accounting for the value, or no good. Ain’t is from the time when ain meant is so ain’t means is not or isn’t. You can find this in Chaucer and Shakespeare’s writings. Larruping or larrupin’ isn’t or ain’t just about food. Our family still uses it. Larrupin’ is really good whether it’s food or a larrupin’ good time. Arse potatoes are Irish potatoes, and EVERYONE know that🤣. Turtle has different flavors o meat in it. Some parts taste like chicken, some pork and some beef. Sausage is a good way to use it or grind it all together. I have deer or venison sausage in my freezer right now, shot, cleaned and ground by my 14 year old grandson! Tipper and her girls led me to your site so I subscribed to you today❣️

I enjoyed this so much I found your channel through them I have been so blessed after I found them through the mom's channel. They have made my deary existence better I had pretty much gave up on religion and this whole life . I have been bed bound for months waiting on surgery for my back and not being able to do anything else but lay in bed. Then one day I found Miss Tipper and I was amazed someone as sweet was actually on this platform. Then I found these precious young ladies and they have helped me so much. Thank you for having them on here and being so respectful towards them . Everyone that watches this family becomes very protective of them. Such lovely young ladies. I think the reason people love them is because they are so genuine, wholesome, winsome, just real people. I hesitate to say common because that word today has the wrong connotations. But they should be seen as the standard. The world promotes promiscuous women. These girls are the opposite of that. They are what all young women should aspire to be. They feel like family, like a sister or a daughter or a niece. I know their parents are very proud because they have raised two wonderful people. Girls, just keep being who you are and aspire to be all that God intends.

Example: Corie was talking about prayer and finding time for God, and she said something like: "We all think sometimes how busy we are and actually think stuff like" I have all these problems -- I don't have time for God!" So funny and so insightful, how we try so hard to take responsibility for ourselves that we don't even let God in. An important lesson to keep in mind. Thank you, Corie. And Katie? Katie just has captured our hearts -- with her beauty, her fighting spirit, her sweetness. Katie teaches that having the courage to be yourself is part of God's plan, brings you closer to him. Behind every fear, every weakness, every doubt is something good. If you can trust that, God will make himself known to you. Both of them are very special, both of them are just lovely !!!
