Listening to rock and pop since I was a kid way back in the 70s, every time I hear the Pretenders I think that Chrissie is the greatest rock performer that ever lived. Her soul, style, attitude, voice, and musical and lyrical quality are all just amazing. Feel fortunate to have seen them several times over the years.

The World Wildlife Foundation used this song with WWF's video of various animal cruelty overlaying the song. It was in the late 1990s when they did it. Don't know if the vidoe exists anywhere on KZbin but really ampplified this song to a whole new level.

Fun fact - Chrissie was a music journalist who decided she needed to put up or shut up and formed her own band, The Pretenders. She is responsible for writing most of the band’s catalog. She’s easily one of the greatest musicians to ever front a band. The Pretenders were inducted into The Rock Hall of Fame in 2005.
