I really really loved your green selection, even though I’ve always felt you resist your love for them. But the ones you showed this time were just gorgeous!

Love your colors! You got me hooked on Naples yellow from Schmincke and cobalt violet years ago! This year my Irit takeaway will be the way you mix gouache and watercolors. I am going to try this !

Yes!!! It's such a great combo!! I should really do a video dedicated to that. Noted!

Very enjoyable video! Introduced me to a few new colors and brands. My favorite greens are the Cascade Green you showed and Perylene Green from Daniel Smith. Look forward to watching your other videos. 😍

So much fun to see your faves! I recently got out my Derwent Inktense Paint Studio Set that I've never used that much. It's really a fun set and has some almost fluorescent colors in it such as Fuchsia, a vivid magenta, Kiwi a chartreuse that are really beautiful. Their turquoise is not a fluorescent, but it's lovely! I don't use fluorescent colors in my regular artwork, but they are a kick to play with! Thanks! 😊

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing Nancy! Sounds like a fun set!

Hullo Irit, I am a little jealous of your access to the Schmincke line of art supplies! Schmincke creates amazing products even their Akademie student paints are quite good! I know that you love the bright pinks and the brightest of those contain dyes and keeping them from fading is practically impossible! I have a few dye based paintings that are holding up well. I have found that getting a layer over the top protects that blocks UV rays and the use of museum glass is another layer of protection that is required for any color permanence. I know that I have greater access to the American brands and DaVinci has become my favorite! Seaglass is one of their newer colors and you are so right it is so beautiful and the camera is not recording it properly! DaVinci has a “New Gold” color that is quite lovely too! Thank you for sharing your favorite colors with us! I wish you a prosperous new year and continued success with your classes and growing up your community!

I have several schmincke palettes and tubes. I love Davinci so much better. I have all the best and Davinci is my favorite. With sennelier and m graham and Daniel smith. Lol. Schmincke is actually my least favorite of all the greats. You’re not missing out imo

@@LCLand Thanks! I got the Schmincke soft pastels as they were such a deal I could not pass it up! but the watercolors have always been expensive and before I found DaVinci I was a Grumbacher paint user, I tried Mijello when coming back to traditional paints in 2016, but I just did not find the joy I remembered having when I painted before. Since finding DaVinci of California I just find Joy in every tube!

Thank you so much, same to you! Have a wonderful new year! Yes Schmincke's products are wonderful... I've recently played some with their new water soluble oil and they are lovely... But luckily the US has some great options more locally. Wish you a wonderful and creative 2025!

I used the Schmincke French Ultramarine as well but I don’t like it as much as their Ultramarine finest. It’s a bit too easy to lift for me and I had a lot of issues when I layered it. I have a few new paints from Renesans that I tested and fell in love with a few of the colors. I can mix an indigo with my main palette but I tried the Renesans one even though it is a bit harder to rewet and liked it, as well as their Perylene Violet hue which can be used to mix shadows I think and on it’s own. Some colors are a hit or miss there too but it’s alright that some brands are doing some colors better than others. Raw Sienna is also back on my palette because I missed my light earths.

@iritlandgraf I think I discovered a few new favorites for myself. I've been looking for a more lightfast Indigo than the Schmincke one for a while. I'm glad that I tried that one it's a bit granulating I'd say. It has some texture that I don't mind as much but it's not easy to find the right colors.

Love the energy of the mixes & some singular pretty ones like pan WN cobalt violet : is in my pallet. Schminke Indigo added & use it. Now it’s 2025 & I will try a couple brands for gouache. That Golden Ochre is vibing 😍Out for groceries but will catch the other vids. Thank you, Irit🌟

The last page of greens you showed a hot pink that you used to mix with a particular green. It looked gorgeous together. Is there any chance you remember the name and brand of that hot pink? I love color so much but I am going color blind so I don't trust eyeballing a color especially on the screen lol. I love the way you mix and mingle color swatches. I think I'm gonna do more of that this year. Thank you for the inspiration. Your demo of Qor paints pushiness was really eye-opening. I know they love to spread like crazy but I've never seen them bully another color like that. Such a beautiful the fact that you really have to be comfortable with letting a watercolor have complete control, and letting it do its thing.

Hi! That hot pink is probably W& N gouache Rose Tyrien. Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you're enjoying my swatching and have the best time playing with your watercolors!

@ thank you so much I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and especially writing that name down I would not have spelled it right lol. I wrote it down on my new wish list , isn't that awful I just got a starter set of gouache (Holbein CYM + a DS ultramarine ) for Christmas and I'm already starting a new wish list. 😊 I thought I had my watercolor palette pretty much complete. I've been binge watching your channel and goodness you make so many colors tempting from different brands… Great for the soul, tough on the pocketbook lol. Something about the way you use them makes them look more interesting than what I've been seeing on swatch cards. You're able to bring out not just the color but the possibilities and potential that the colors hold. It's making me look twice at some colors. I've passed on and introducing me to brands I've overlooked. Thanks again for taking time out of your busy day. I'm off to binge some more of your videos.
