LYRICS And so it went The children lost their minds Beggin' for forgiveness Was such a waste of time And the bullets start to fly And the boughs about to break When you hear them cry It's too much for me to take They said the world does not belong to you You are not the king, I am not the fool They said the world does not belong to you It don't belong to you It belongs to me And so it went The children lost their minds Crawlin' over bodies of those who gave their lives And the fists began to throw And the fire starts to blaze Don't you think they know They're the fuckin' human race? They said the world does not belong to you You are not the king, I am not the fool They said the world does not belong to you It don't belong to you It belongs to- Everyone is cryin' out, I can hear them scream With all these eyes upon us, but no one seems to see That you and me are just the same as God meant it to be But you're much too close to me You're much too close to me And so it went The children lost their minds Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide And the wind begins to howl And the wolf is at your door You have so much of everything But still, you wanted more They said the world does not belong to you You are not the king, I am not the fool They said the world does not belong to you It don't belong to you It belongs to me The world does not belong to you You are not the king, I am not the fool They said the world does not belong to you It don't belong to you It belongs to me

Wow. I just started listening to the Pretty Reckless recently and watched this video for the first time just now. They are a phenomenal band and she is an amazing vocalist! How I never heard this band before or why they aren't getting more buzz then they are is beyond me. I've been to literally hundreds of concerts and live shows in my life and seen just about every major hard rock/metal band/artist from the late 80's to the late 90's and met many of them and I have to say that the Pretty Reckless are the real deal. They have their own unique sound yet bring back the vibe from the era that I worked in the music industry managing record stores during that late 80's to late 90's music period. I do want to get tickets to see them live here in Portland Oregon with Shinedown next month!

@@strongestpower If you like The Pretty Reckless, check out Stitched Up Heart. If you like the very talented Taylor Momsen, you will likely also like Mixi Demner. Their newest album was released literally the same month as the pandemic arrived, so they couldn't tour last year, but they will be playing some of the big music festivals this year. Also, if you haven't heard Stitched Up Heart's previous CD "Monster", it is brilliant, as every song is top notch. Two more suggestions for very good current bands: Skarlett Riot and New Year's Day.

@@brentstewart1764 Thanks for the reccommendations! I've checked out several songs from each band and there were a few that I kind of liked, but over all, they're not entirely my cup of tea.
